The Myan

Tyler's Boss, co-workers, students and their family's got together and went to the Myan for dinner last night. Talk about a NIGHTMARE. First of all the Myan dosn't take reservations and we had a party of 26. We were told to show up at 6:30. We were the first ones to show up so we put our name down and we were told it would take 60 to 75 minutes until we were seated. my kids were so hungry but we thought it would be ok, I gave them some restaurant mints to pass the time. We sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half, the kids were sooo hungry at this point. Tyler's boss's wife went up to the front desk and complained so they gave us warm tortilla's for the kids to eat while we continued to wait. After eating the tortilla's the kids were thirsty. I went up to the front desk and said we have been waiting here since 6:30, my kids are hungry and thirsty and I would like to get a cup of water for them please. They told me to be patient and they would call our name in a few minutes. This pissed me off BIG TIME. I told them they would either sit us NOW or they would bring out of cup of water, I didnt think that was too much to ask but whatever, we got called back. We had to go up four flights of stairs and on the way we saw empty table after empty table and they sat us next to a big banquet room that was EMPTY! Ok, whatever I am still trying to be patient because after all we are with about 22 other people. And of course we had the dumbest waiter ever. He came to take our drink orders and Tyler's boss's wife said actually you can take the drink and food orders now. So he took everybody's orders including Shayna's, she wanted a hamburger with nothing on it but mustard, he looked at me and said you want that plain with nothing on it but mustard, right? Right I say. Finally an hour later we got our drinks, keep in mind I am still waiting for the cup of water, a few minutes after that he started bringing out the food. This is where everyone started getting EXTREMELY ANNOYED! I got my food and a few other people at the table got their food, none of the kids were brought their food. Tyler's boss complained to the waiter and he brought out the kids food, but, Shayna's hamburger had cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and the special sauce on it, I started just scraping stuff off and Ty's boss said no way this is not acceptable I am sending it back, so when the waiter came back I clarified that I wanted a plain hamburger with mustard only. A few minutes later the hamburger came back and wouldnt you know it, it had cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and the special sauce on it and NO mustard. I just scraped it off so Shay could eat.....but she wouldn't she just wanted to go home and eat a bowl of cereal. I can't say I blame her it was 10:00 at this point. The kids were just so tired and I was so annoyed I was like whatever if you don't want to eat I don't care I will stop at McDonald's on the way home if we need to. There were some people in our party that never received their food and some people got the wrong order and the food SUCKED. I will never go back, talk about the worst experience ever. Tyler's boss was so mad by the end of the night he was able to get all of our food comped. The total cost for our nightmare was $5 dollars for the tip, which if you ask me was too much. Moral of this story......DON'T go to the Myan. We finally made it home at 11:00 and the kids crashed.....No Shayna never ate, Poor girl.

Happy Birthday Tyler

The kids and I just wanted to tell you Happy Birthday and we love you! Britton says thank you for being such a good Dad and playing transformers with him and he hopes you have a good day. Shayna says Happy Birthday Dada, I love you!

Sometimes I impress myself

I have had these flowers for like 6 years now. I never did anything with them because the kids had so much fun using them as swords and magic wands. I finally made Shay some barrettes. I think they turned out very cute and I can't believe I actually did it all by myself. I made 12 barrettes for $4. I have a friend who makes these and she charges $6 per pair. WOW! Sometimes I impress myself.

Fun Weekend

Some of our friends from Moab came and stayed with us this weekend. We had a lot of fun. We stayed up late on Friday night just visiting and catching up. Saturday my parents took our kids and went out to my Uncles house so the kids could play with their cousins that are visiting from Alaska and then they slept at my parents house. Kip, KD, Tyler and I went to lunch at Applebee's at gateway and walked around to a few of the stores, it was too cold to stay to long, then we went to the Ultimate Combat Experience (fight). After that we went to see the movie The Eye. We didn't get home until 1:00 am, which is VERY late for me, but it was worth it. Thanks Mom and Dad for keeping the kids so we could go have fun and thanks Kip and KD for coming, I hope we can get together again soon!

Crazy Weather

I wasn't going to blog about this but I decided that since this is my journal I might as well. On Wednesday the 13th my co-worker and I had to work in Eureka. We were having some pretty insane weather that day and we didn't get done in Eureka until 7:00 that evening, I had been working since 7:00 that morning so it had already been a long day. On the drive home the weather was just getting worse and worse, we could hardly see the road in front of us. Four hours later we finally made it to Lehi and the roads into Salt Lake were either closed or at a dead stop. Luckily my co-workers Mom lives in Lehi. I ended up spending the night there and after her Dad dug my way out I was finally able to leave at 8:00 am, I still had to stop at my office to return the car and scrape a TON of snow off of my car. I had to go into the office to pick up some things with no makeup on and still wearing the clothes I had been in since 6:00 am the previous day and had slept in. I finally made it to my house at 11:00 am, I had never been so excited for a shower and to brush my teeth in my whole life. It was seriously crazy. I was glad to finally make it home and see my kids.

Valentine Cookies

Thanks Mom for letting the kids make valentine cookies at your house. They had a lot of fun.....like always.

Girls Night Out

I'm a little late but on Monday my friends and I had a girls night out. Rachel was in town and Mandi was days away from having her baby so we gathered at IHOP and had a lot of fun. There were a couple of friends that were not able to make it and we really missed them, hopefully they can join next time. Thanks for the fun girls, can't wait to do it again.

Helicopters, heights and scenic views, OH MY

We finally got to go on our helicopter ride, it was so much fun, I LOVED it and can't wait to do it again. I can't believe how different a helicopter feels then an airplane. Here are some of our pictures from the adventure.

Pilot: Tyler, the best helicopter pilot I know!

Tyler has to pre-flight the helicopter before we can fly. That means he has to inspect every inch of the helicopter to make sure everything is in perfect condition. A lot goes in to this it takes about 20 minutes every time he has to fly.

Passengers: Brittney, Britton, Shayna, Grandma T., Grandpa T. (my parents) and my Grandma.
Britton absolutely loved the helicopter, he has been talking about it non stop and has been asking so many questions. Tyler has been teaching him a lot and they are both determined for Britton to get his Pilots license before he gets his drivers license.

And this is some of the view we got, we flew to Heber City and flew over Deer Creek Reservoir. It was beautiful.

I have so many pictures but decided that would have to be enough!

After our flight we went to visit family at Uncle Robyn's house. These are some pictures from that adventure.

The male adults hung out in the kitchen while.......

the girls danced in the living room.

This little girl is the newest addition to our family. Her name is Kiana and she is Five weeks old. She is Coby and Jill's little bundle of joy. She is sooooo cute I could have held her forever.

V Smile

My Parents and my Grandma came over to our house for dinner on Friday night. Shay asked Papa if he would play V Smile with her so I snuck (is that a word?) down stairs and took this picture. Shay is such a Grandpa's girl, whenever he's around Shay won't leave him alone.

Valentine Cupcakes

The kids made Valentine Cupcakes. I let them do everything by themselves from stirring all of the ingredients together to filling the pan to the icing of the cupcakes.

Needless to say, we didn't give these cupcakes away!

Silly Shayna

For as long as I can remember Shayna has loved to pose for the camera. Lately she has been making up her own poses. She will say "Mom, take a picture of me doing this" or "this is really cute Mom, get your camera". She loves to practice her poses in front of the mirror as well. Here is some of her latest work.

So what inspired me to do this post you might ask? Well, today before we could leave for school she had to do some poses for the camera.

Shayna has such a fun personality. She is always making me laugh.

Black Hawk Striker 2

Tyler and Britton Play a computer game called Black Hawk Striker 2. Now since this is a Helicopter game you would think that a helicopter pilot would be really good at it.....right? Funny thing is Tyler can not beat Britton. They have been playing this game for a while and the other night Tyler finally beat Britton's score by a couple hundred points, so Britton played again and wiped Tyler out by a few Thousand points. As for me, lets just say I don't last very long.

Poor, Sick Kids

Shayna started throwing up Tuesday evening and and threw up twice that night, she was still sick on Wednesday but didnt throw up at all that day so I decided it would be ok to go back to work on Thursday. Around 5:00 pm Thursday she started throwing up again but it ended before I put her in bed. Thursday night at 11:00 Pm Britton started throwing up and he threw up every 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. I promise I am not exaggerating. It was awful, we were both exhausted. He finally stopped throwing up at 6:00 am. We were both able to finally fall asleep about 6:30. And what do you know, Shayna woke up at 7:30......so much for sleep. Here we are on superbowl Sunday everyone seems to be feeling ok but we had to cancel our superbowl plans. O'well at least no one is throwing up. Please, please don't let me get it!!!
