Britton makes his Dad so proud!

We were sitting at Brittons soccer game and Tyler and Britton had the cutest conversation.

Tyler said to Britton "hey Bud, you need to get out there and get after it, when you kick the ball stay with it. And Britton responded "I know Dad I just need to think like Morales. Tyler, being very impressed with that comment said "That's sweetness Bud, but I want you to score goals. So Britton said "oh ok, then I need to think like Movsissian".

Morales and Movsissian are soccer players for Real Salt Lake.

Bowling

Today we took the kids bowling. Of course I forgot the camera. I am so disappointed because the kids were having a blast and being so cute. We told them yesterday that if they were good and they slept well that we would have a big surprise today. They did great so we wanted to surprise them with bowling. The bowling ally is next to Papa's office so we told them we had to go to Papa's office for a couple of hours. They were so annoyed. When we pulled into the parking lot we told them we were going to walk to the office, they didn't figure it out until we walked up to the door then Shay said "Hey, is this our surprise"! It was cute how excited they got. They are easy to please I love it. It was glow in the dark bowling and they had music playing. Shayna was dancing around the whole time. Shayna and Britton are both becoming pretty good bowlers. We are not going to use the bumpers next time and see how they do.

Soccer

Britton had a soccer game last night and I just wanted to post some pictures since I forgot my camera last week. Too bad his team has never won a game. O'well, maybe next week.

Another mispronunciation made by Shay!

Last night we were brushing our teeth. Shayna was looking at her teeth in the mirror and then stuck her tongue out. After examining her tongue for a minute she said "look Mom, I can see all of my taste bugs" (taste buds).

Where did my weekend go?

This weekend was really busy. I wish I could take it back and do things differently so I can relax a bit more, since that can't happen I will just blog about it.

Thursday night was Britton's first soccer game of the season. They have missed four games because of the weather. Thursday night's game should have been canceled in my opinion but they played anyway. It was cold and rainy the whole time. I have to get my Moms camera from her to get the pictures....I forgot my camera.

Friday morning we woke up to get Britton ready for school. I got a call saying I wasn't needed in Brittons class that morning so after Shayna and I dropped Britton off at school we picked up Shane and went grocery shopping. I have been doing Grocery Smarts. So once I had my list, Shane's list and all of our coupons ready to go we went to Albertsons. Here is what I got.....

15 bottles of poweraide
4 sobe life water
1 vitamin water
4 liters diet coke
2 boxes life cereal
1 gallon milk
6 boxes pasta/rice a roni
1 bag corn chips
4 boxes granola bars
2 boxes oreo straws
1 box corn starch
a treat for Shayna
I spent $38.00
Saved $ 59.83
Not too bad. I didn't have to buy any meat or fresh produce this time so I guess we will see how good I do next week. Shane saved a lot this time too. If you know Shane you know he LOVES coupons. He gets so excited when I hand him his coupons for shopping.
We got groceries put away and then headed back out to buy a Birthday gift for Mckye (our Niece) We got home and got the present wrapped then we headed back out to pick Britton up from school and go to the Dentist. We found out that Britton's 6 year old molars came in without any enamel and he had one cavity. We have to go back Monday morning to get sealants on his molars and take care of the cavity. After the dentist we went home and had a little snack before we were headed off again to Mckye's Birthday party.

Shayna and Mckye. They are four days apart and just love to be together.

We went to the Classic Fun Center in Layton. We had the Sponge Bob room and the kids loved the bubbles.

Jonny and Grandma and Grandpa Carver all had Birthday gifts for Shayna so this kind of turned into a Birthday for both Shayna and Mckye. They took turns blowing out the candles.

And then they opened their presents.

They both got these guitars. And they are very cute pretending they are in a rock band.

Here's Britton and Beckham playing a Sponge Bob video game.

I wasnt very good at taking pictures but the kids had a blast. They got to ride scooters on the roller skating floor. They played laser tag, jumped on the big blowup jumpy things (like at kangaroo zoo. And had all you can eat pizza and root beer. We didn't get home until 9:30 pm and Jonny, Beckham and Mckye slept at our house. The kids were so wound up there was no way we were getting them to bed. Jonny brought his wii so the kids played that for a while and we finally got them to bed around 11:30 PM. This is extremely late for my kids. I hate putting them to bed this late because I swear, the later they go to bed the earlier they wake up the next morning....I was right, they were up at 7:00 am. Tyler had work from 7:00 am to 8:30 pm so he missed out on all this fun.
Saturday morning we woke up early and got breakfast, the kids played for a bit and then Tyler had to leave for work. Jonny and his kids left shortly after. We had to go to a going away party for Tylers student. He is graduating and joining the military so I started to get everybody ready. When we were all ready to go I got a call from Tyler saying we were not going because we had too many errands to run and we were supposed to be to my parents for dinner by 4:30. So we ran all of our errands and got Shayna two new pairs of shoes. Britton needs new soccer shoes but of course we couldn't find any in his size so we will have to keep looking. Britton started complaining that he wasn't feeling good. I thought he was just tired from the lack of sleep and hard play so I didn't think much of it. We had dinner with my parents and Jonny left us his wii for a week so we took it to my parents and Britton and my Dad boxed, Britton won!!! Then Tyler and my Dad played tennis, and Shayna and Shane bowled. Shane had a hard time getting the hang of it and gave up so Britton finished for him. My kids are now addicted to the wii and are begging us for one. I really don't want to spend that kind of money on a video game. Hopefully they forget about it when Jonny takes it back....Ha ha!
Sunday was our day of.....WORK. I was so behind on cleaning the house and doing laundry and pulling weeds that we had a full day of work. We were invited to Tyler's Mom's for dinner but we didn't make it. We were way too busy. It's a good thing we didn't go though. Britton started complaining again about not feeling well. I guess it wasn't just because he was tired. I looked at his throat and just knew he had strep again. I took him to Kids Care and sure enough, it's strep. This time they referred us to a Ear Nose and Throat specialist. Britton has had Strep 5 times in the last 12 months. I guess we will see if he needs his tonsils out. His appointment is next week. And we rescheduled his Dentist appointment for later in the week.
I'm glad this weekend is over. Hopefully next weekend will be more relaxing.....

Happy Birthday Shayna!!

I can't believe my baby turned 5! As soon as she found out Uncle Roger was going to be in Moab she decided to forgo a friend party. So, we had her Birthday in Moab at Adventure land again this year. Complete with Race cars, arcade games, laser tag and swings. We had a really good time and she got some fun gifts. Thank you to everyone who came and especially Derik and Shelley for taking time out of your day to open up for Shay's party.

Shayna also celebrated her Birthday with her preschool class on Tuesday April 14th. She gave out M&M chocolate chip cookies on Sponge Bob Square Pants napkins. She was so excited that she got to touch the kids on the head, she talked about it all week.....The Birthday kid gets a magic wand and when you get touched on the head you get to sit down at the table to get your treat. I had a picture of her doing this but it turned out blurry.
Here's the Birthday Girl!

The little boy with the blond hair and the cookie in his mouth....That's her boyfriend Sam. We are in big trouble with this girl.

Happy Birthday Shayna, we love you so much.
Shayna is notorious for saying things wrong. I have listed several things that she has mispronounced in the past. I have a few more that are worthy of listing.....
She has been watching Britton at his Karate class, now she say's "if your not nice I will get you with my upper puh". (upper cut)
She wanted to hand her cookies out on Spongy Bob (Sponge Bob) napkins.
She got a new toy from the cereal box. She just loves her new laser bean (laser beam).
She says the cutest things, it's so hard to correct her.
After Shayna's Birthday party we went to the new climbing wall park. Britton and Shayna are very good climbers. It looks like its time to invest in climbing gear.

Shay made it to the top with ease.

Britton also had no problems.

And look at me! Can you believe it? I made it to the top as well. Ok so the wall wasn't that much taller then me, but still. Tyler said "you go Tiger" so I had to give him my best Tiger claw.

Have you ever watched Spectacular! If not you should. They do a performance called Eye of the Tiger, It's Shayna's favorite, here we are performing it.

And along comes Tyler, He's such a show off. He had to show us all up by doing tricks. Why can't he be satisfied just climbing to the top like me.....What a stud!

Here I am again, but this time, I'm not feeling so well. I was freezing and feeling a bit nauseated. I was praying that I wasn't getting sick. If you remember I was really sick the last time I was in Moab and missed out on hiking to the Delicate Arch. This time I would miss out on coloring Easter Eggs....Please, please, please don't be sick.......

I was doomed, by the time we got back to Grandma's house and started dying Easter Eggs I was sick. I managed to snap a few pictures before I had to excuse myself. I was the only one that got really sick this time so it must have been something I ate.
Anyway here are my cute kids dying Easter Eggs on Shays Birthday!

Since I was sick I slept on the couch upstairs and the kids and Tyler slept downstairs. Some time during the night the Easter bunny came. I never heard or saw him. He left lots of fun stuff this year.

Fishing hats. No sunburn worries for my fair skinned beauty! And Britton just looks cute.
Did you know that I had the best Easter gift EVER! When I woke up there was a note by me that said look under your pillow. When I looked under my pillow there was a sealed envelope. Guess what was inside......
Two notes from my most favorite boy.
Both of my kids took very good care of me while I wasn't feeling well. I think that's the only reason I was able to get out of bed and go on the Easter Egg hunt Roger set up for the kids.

After our many egg hunts it was time to go home. Everyone wanted a family picture, minus Tyler because he was taking the picture. Man I look rough. Let's just say that was not a fun car ride home.....
Happy Easter!! I hope everyone was well.
