Little Miss Betsy Ross all ready to go perform.
On stage. She said she was a little nervous before they walked out on stage but as soon as she started to dance it was just so much fun she forgot all about being nervous.
After the performance I went back to the room she had to stay in to check on her. She was having so much fun with all of her friends. She really could have cared less if I went to see her.
After the finale I went to pick her up and noticed that she re-applied her makup all by herself. I think her eyeliner looks lovely and I'm so proud of her for doing it....silly girl. She was so proud of herself.
Tyler and I gave her a bouquet of flowers and so did Grandma and Grandpa Turner! (make sure you enlarge the pictures so you can see her eyeliner)
On our way out to the car she had to stop for one more photo session. She LOVES getting her picture taken.
Her flowers. They look so pretty and they make her feel special!

Ballet Dress Rehersal
Shayna's Ballet recital is next week, this is the dress rehearsal that we had to sit through for SIX hours. Talk about a long day. It's a good thing I had a good book to read and my Mom came to visit for a couple of hours and Tyler brought me a coffee. What a good husband he is. Shayna did very well. She loves to dance on stage and can't wait until next week to perform for everyone. She has a performance on both Friday and Saturday. Talk about exciting.
She is Betsy Ross this year and I think she makes a very cute Betsy Ross!

Soccer tryouts
Last Thursday Britton had Soccer tryouts. No more recreation soccer for us. I am so excited about that I can't even tell you. We haven't found out what team Britton made yet but we are excited to find out. The tryouts were supposed to be two day's long but because of the weather one of the days got canceled and we had to sit in the freezing rain the second day. Britton did a great job and I think he is going to be on a really good team this year. This league plays year round. Once winter hits they play indoor. We are so excited.

California Vacation Day 1.....Circus Circus
Our vacation has finally arrived and I am so excited! We rented a Motor home and hauled the family California. The first night we stopped in Las Vegas and went to Circus Circus. We parked at the Circus Circus KOA. Not a very nice park but it was fun anyway.
These pictures were taken on the drive to Vegas! Shane fell asleep about a half hour into the drive. The second he gets into the car he is out. He even falls asleep on the way to the grocery store sometimes.
Here the kids are on some rides, we tried not to let them do too many rides. We didn't want them to get sick of it before we got to Disneyland.

California Vacation Day 2.....Chula Vista
We got up early Sunday morning and drove to San Diego. We stayed at a motor home park called Chlula Vista. It's really close to Sea World. This was such a nice park and right on the beach. However the surf in this particular area is to strong so there is no swimming but we did manage to play on the beach a little. The weather was beautiful and warm. The only time we needed a jacket was when the sun went down.
Britton loves maps. He was our navigator.
We took Shayna's roller skates with us so that she would have something to do while at the RV parks. Grandpa would take her for rides....she loved it.
The highlight of staying in this park was feeding the ducks. They would come over to our camp site and wait for the kids to get up and come feed them. They were so cute!
We went to bed early so we would have energy at Sea World. This was a nice relaxing day that we all enjoyed.

California Vacation Day 3......Sea World
Here we are at Sea World. It was such a fun day with perfect weather. Sea World was so much better then I remembered it to be. I haven't been there for YEARS but it seemed bigger with a lot more to do. Maybe I was just enjoying it so much because I was having fun watching the kids make memories.
This was Britton's favorite part of the whole trip. He loved feeding and petting the Bat wray's. He was so brave about it and didn't want to leave. Shayna wouldn't have anything to do with it. She was so scared of them. It really made her mad when one of the bat wray's swam along the edge and used his "wing" to splash water on her.
On the skytower ride. Once you get to the top it slowly spins around so you can see the whole park.
I had to get a picture of this tree. I thought the roots were so amazing. You walk passed it when you get off of the skytower ride.
At the seal and otter show. This was a really fun show and made the kids laugh a lot.
At the whale show. It's called Believe. It was really neat, you couldn't help but get a little teary eyed.
The little theme park at Sea World is a lot of fun for the kids. Britton and Shayna rode on all of the rides and played in the big jungle gym. Tyler and I did too!
The kids got to feed the flamingo's. Flamingo's are so weird. Look closely at this guys leg. You can't tell me that's comfortable.
We went on the bayside skyride. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it. Mostly something to do to relax for a bit, You really don't get to see much.
Britton begged us to go back to the Bat Wray's. He wanted to feed them again and he loved petting them. Shane decided he would try touching them.
Shay decided if Shane could do it, so could she.
And she loved it. They are so velvety soft. She wouldn't touch the fish to feed them though. I don't blame her. I wouldn't either.
This is at the shark tank. After seeing those teeth I gotta say I was a little nervous to play in the ocean.
Family picture moments by another very cool tree.
The four generations!
The four amigo's!
The very last thing on our list to do was to visit the Wild arctic. I'm glad we didn't miss this attraction. It was very cool. No pun intended.....they keep it freezing in there. I guess it makes sense. It was the arctic after all.
Sea Otter
Very cute and sleepy Polar Bear
Walrus
Beluga. This guy was funny. And so cute. He would swim as fast as he could toward the glass window then at the very last second turn and swim away. He would do it over and over right in front of my Dad. Ty say's he was looking for a mate. Haha!
Penguins
Cute picture of Shayna and Grandpa getting ready for lunch.
And our last picture of the day.....On our way out of Sea World with all of our treasures.
We all had a ton of fun. It was the perfect day and the kids truly made it enjoyable. They were so happy all day long. No tears, no fighting, no attitudes.......pure bliss!
Back at the motor home after a long day at Sea World with their frosty libations. I think this was the highlight of their day!
