Today, I am sad.

I shouldn't be sad. Most people would be so super excited. But I am struggling. My kids went with Grandma and Grandpa Turner to the condo. They will be gone for 6 days, SIX DAYS! How am I going to survive. I HATE it when they are gone. I know I won't be able to sleep well. I never do when they are not in their beds....don't know why, but it makes me feel anxious. Maybe because I don't go through the usual routine of tucking them in. It just makes me feel off. I am going to be so bored. Yes, it will be nice to have Tyler all to myself, but we get bored. We don't remember how to be childless. Everything we do we catch ourselves saying, "Britton and Shayna would love this" or "Man I wish Britton and Shay were here with us" and so on. I really hope we can keep ourselves busy. Otherwise I may just go crazy missing them. They have never been away from us for this long, I think that's why I am about to have a panic attack......Wish me luck.

Happy 24th of July

I had an extra day off of work thanks to the 24th. I had every intention to take that day and clean the house but then a friend of mine told me about splash pads. And they are free so the kids and I loaded up, headed to the gas station for some snacks and went to the splash pad.






It was fun for something different to do but the kids got bored pretty quick. They are getting to big for these kinds of things I guess...darn!

We had big plans for Saturday so we decided to do our family fireworks on Friday night.

Nobody was enthused about my cool picture attempt. But the moon was so pretty I just couldn't help myself.


Britton really struggled trying to figure it out. You can see by the look on his face he was like, just take the dang picture...so I did.

Our neighbors were just getting home from the parade when we started our fireworks so they brought us homemade root beer and we enjoyed our awesome fireworks.




Saturday we took the kids to the Real soccer game. Here they are all dressed up and ready to go!

It was so dang hot at the game we all had to get huge snow cones....they were a life saver for sure.

before you walk into the stadium you are handed flyers and booklets and whatnot. Shayna used hers as a visor to keep the sun out of her eyes....smart girl!

At half time Shayna and Tyler went to get drinks and treats so Britton and I took the opportunity for a photo shoot. Just ignore the shadows. We were completely melted at this point. We spent eight bucks on two bottled waters, and we were excited to do so.

After the game was the fireworks. They only allowed the north section of the stadium to go down on the field. We snuck down anyway and got awesome seats. We loved the fire work show, especially Shayna, she kept saying "this is so much fun!"




We didn't get home until after 11. My kids are never out that late. Shayna was hysterically laughing at everything on the way home. Poor little delirious girl. She kept us all entertained and Britton loved that she was laughing at everything he did or said. It was a great time! We all had a blast, thanks to Tyler's student for the awesome deal on tickets.

Week in review!

We had a pretty fun week this last week. Chance (my cousin) had to come up for work so he stayed with us for a week. He took the opportunity to go fly with Tyler. They didn't take any pictures so I don't have proof that it was actually done. I have to take their word for it. Tyler say's Chance flew really well and he was really impressed with him. Can you see why I think it was all a story...haha just kidding. I know they had a ton of fun!

The weather around here has been so HOT! We have had a lot of backyard water time.




On Friday the kids and I met up at a park for lunch with some of my friends and their kids. My Friend from North Carolina is in town and it is always good to see her. I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pictures but hopefully I will be seeing her again before she has to head back home.

We had to leave the park a little early because we had a dentist appointment. Britton has lost four teeth since we were there last. And the last time we were there we found out that his six year old molars came in without enamel on them. With his new teeth coming in I have been so nervous about them. Much to my relief they are coming in just fine, enamel and all. But it looks like it will be a while before he loses any more teeth. For some reason he is very slow with this process, but that's ok. The longer he has his baby teeth the better it is for his adult teeth. They seem to think that Shayna will lose all of her teeth before he does. And she is so excited about that. She hasn't lost any of her teeth yet, they are not even loose. Most of her friends have lost a bunch of teeth already.....My kids are just slow. Nobody had cavities......WAHOO!!

We wanted to take the kids on a hike this weekend. I have decided that we need to get out more and be more active. Of course I had to decide this on the hottest day of the year. We went to Adams Canyon.


See how hot it was. Tyler took of the back pack and it looked like he was still wearing it. I wish I would have gotten a picture of his back. It really looked like he was still wearing a back pack. It was pretty funny.







This hike is famous for it's waterfall. We didn't quite make it there. We could have if we had a little more water. It was so hot we were drinking the water and Gatorade like crazy. We started to get low and decided we better head back. The kids were disappointed but we will go back. And next time WE WILL MAKE IT!!

Grandma Donna came home from the condo with my parents and stayed an extra couple of days. So Grandma and Great Grandma took the kids to the park. Then we all (minus Tyler, he had to work) went over to their house for the most delicious dinner that my Dad worked on all day. I love summer. I wish the kids didn't have to go back to school.

Condo vacation continued and the scariest thing to ever happen to me

My parents kept the kids with them for an extra day. Tyler and I had to get back to work and the kids didn't have anything planned until Tuesday evening so they were lucky enough to stay an extra day. I got my Mom's camera so I could see the pictures that they took while Tyler and I were gone, however I found some other cute ones and had to add them.

We weren't planning on keeping any of the fish that we caught so we didn't really go prepared. Britton insisted on keeping his fish so here he is on the way back to the condo holding his fish in a Tupperware we just happened to have with us.

The rest of these pictures were taken while Ty and I were gone. Britton decided he wanted to build a fort so he worked all day on it. It looks like a good little fort. I hope it is still there for him when we go back. He put so much time and effort into it.

Thank you Mom and Dad for keeping the kids. They really enjoyed it.

I decided I would write down the scariest thing that has EVER happened to me. Not that I will ever forget it but it might be something interesting for the kids to read when they get older. Who knows what they will remember.....

Anyway, the first day that we were there the kids were outside playing while Tyler was building their swing. I was in the condo helping my Mom get ready for dinner. And I heard Britton say Mom. So I went to the door and he was standing there holding his throat with drool running down his face. I knew he was choking on a mint because he had asked me if he could have it. He started coughing a little so I kept telling him to just keep coughing to work it out. I was saying over and over don't panic, stay calm, we will get it out, it's going to be ok. I'm not sure if I was trying to convince him or myself. All of a sudden he stopped coughing, and stopped breathing. His little face was so red and strained I could see the veins in his forehead getting bigger. I kept thinking to myself, I have to be the one to get this out. I have to do it no matter what, we were too far from a hospital I knew I couldn't count on getting help from an ambulance. I grabbed him and started doing the Heimlich maneuver on him. It took two try's and then it shot out. He took a long deep breath and started breathing again. The whole process probably last about 15 seconds but it was the longest 15 seconds of my life. My hands were shaking like crazy when all was said and done. Britton thanked me for saving his life and gave me big hug. I am so thankful it turned out the way it did.
