Britton's actual Birthday was yesterday. But he started receiving gifts on Thursday night. We went to watch our Nieces Brittainy and Aisha in their dance performance and afterwards Grandma and Grandpa Carver gave Britton the Transformer Ratchet (1st picture below) they also gave him a bunch of clothes. Britton's Uncle Bruce and Aunt Mary (Ty's sister) gave Britton Money which of course he used to by another Transformer.
Friday night(actual Birthday) We made Britton his favorite food for dinner. Hot Dogs, Corn on the Cob and Watermellon....YUMMY! After dinner we let him open his gift from us. DRUMS!! He wanted a drum set so bad so he could play Lincoln Park. I think it's going to take a little more practice.
And of course Tyler couldn't resist. Notice he didn't dare sit on the stool that came with the drums.
Today we had Britton's friends over for a Transformer Birthday Party. I wish I could say I made the cake but I didn't. It was a huge hit with the boy's.
Some of the decorations.
getting ready to open up all of the gifts from his friends. I couldn't believe all of the good gifts he got. Lots of transformers, bionicle lego's and a lot of other really cool stuff.
Blowing out the candles
The Attendees: Starting at the front closest to camera and going clockwise. Jarom, Shayna, Ethan, Nick, Britton, Hayden and Andrew.
This is Andrew after he painted his face with the frosting. He's a cute kid and apparently I went to school with his Mom. Small World......who knew.
We were worried that the kids were going to get bored, I thought the games that we made up were going to be really lame but they turned out to be so much fun. We played Megatron freeze tag. Throw the ball in the bucket for a prize and the picture above is the kids playing Autobots versus Decepticons (a little water fight with squirt guns). When the party was over we headed over to my parents house for a little family party. My parents made a great dinner, we had Salmon, Chicken Wings and hamburgers, fruits and veggies. And of Course Britton got spoiled.
A little swimming pool for both of the kids.
He got two activity books for first graders from Great Grandma Donna. Uncle Shane gave him a Air Hog remote control Helicopter and my parents gave him a ton of trains and a carrying case to add to his Thomas the Train Collection. What a spoiled boy!!
I think Britton had a great Birthday, he definitely had a lot of fun. Thank you to everybody for the amazing gifts, Britton loved everyone of them.
Britton thank you for being such a great kid. Happy Birthday Bud.....We LOVE you!

Daddy, Daughter Time
We had all kinds of plans for the long weekend but Britton is still sick, poor kid, I feel so bad for him. So While I stayed home with Britton, Tyler took Shay to the Park to fly her kite. She needed to get out of the house and do something she was so bored. Thank you Tyler for doing this for her.

A day out with Thomas!
Thomas the Train always comes right around Britton's Birthday so every year my Mom and Dad get the family tickets and we go to Heber to ride on Thomas and do some of the activities. Usually we go in shorts, this year we wore winter coats.......it was COLD! Britton still wasn't feeling very well but he has been looking forward to this day for a whole year so we took him anyway.
First stop.....getting a Thomas tattoo! Shayna decided she didn't want to get one this time.
Shayna enjoying the petting zoo. Britton wasn't much into petting the little critters so he went to look at a train made with Lego's with Grandma and Grandpa.
The hay maze.....always a favorite.
Riding Thomas!
Getting train suckers....YUMMY! They also got musical toothbrushes and a book.
Shayna changed her mind and decided she wanted a tattoo so we headed back to the tattoo booth. She chose Harold the Helicopter.
Standing in front of Thomas.
After we left Thomas we all went out for dinner. It was a fun day, I just wish Britton felt better.

Preschool Graduation
I guess it wasn't really graduation since she will be in preschool again next year. I guess you would call it an end of the year program. Anyway, Shayna did such a good job, they sang songs and all of the kids had their own speaking part. Shayna had to say, "we hate to see preschool end but we are excited for more learning in the future". She had it memorized and didn't need any help from her teacher. She got right up in front of everyone and spoke with such confidence, she definitely didn't get that from me. There were two girls in her class that wouldn't even do the program, they wouldn't get off their Mom's lap. It was funny, although I wouldn't have thought so if it was my kid. I didn't get very many pictures because I recorded the whole program and I was there by myself. Tyler couldn't get away from work, neither could my Dad, My Mom was kind enough to stay home with Britton because he was so sick.

Flying Kites
The kids got some new fancy kites from the dollar store that they just loved and couldn't wait to fly. Yesterday was a very windy day but we had a lot going on and didn't have time to go to the park to fly the kites, so, the kids went to the back yard. We couldn't let out much string with all of the obstacles that our backyard has to offer such as: swing set, patio furniture, neighbors trees and the fence.

I'm Back!
Where have I been you might be asking, well, nowhere.....I've been right here, I have just been slacking on my blog. I'm not sure why I've been slacking, I have not been that busy and I have had a lot to blog about. So here I am trying to catch up and I hope I don't get behind again.
Way, way back (like three weeks ago) when the Front Runner was just opening they had a few free day's (as everybody knows by now) and my Mom took the kids to ride it. I had to work so I have not been on it yet but Britton and Shayna loved it. Here is a couple of pictures, my Mom didn't get any pictures of them on the train. I have no idea why, but these are cute!
Britton's school had Family Fun day on May 1st. I was in charge of the Wheel Barrel race game. I have been trying to be as involved as possible with Britton's school and class activities. For some reason this is very important to him so I also go to his class on Friday's and help with reading. It's actually been a lot of fun, I have really been enjoying it. I have to take advantage, he's not always going to want me around so I am going to take what I can get and enjoy it. Sorry no pictures of Family Fun Night.....I was busy and spaced it.
Soccer season has ended, the kids where so cute, I'm going to miss them. Tyler was the coach and the kids loved him, he did a great job. All of the kids were given cute little medals. They thought they were the best!
Shayna has her first Ballet Recital coming up. On May 10th they had a Dress Rehearsal (a practice before the big day). They wanted to take the kids out on the stage first to show the little kids their marks. At first Shay was so nervous and cried because she didn't want me to leave her. She finally let her teacher take her and Miss Meagan had to go out on stage with Shay because Shayna wouldn't let go of her. After a few minutes Shayna told Meagan she could do it herself and she was fine after that. These following pictures are after she found her marks on the stage and she is waiting to go perform her dance. She makes me laugh so hard. She loves to pose for the camera but only if the poses are her idea.
She did such a good job, she is very excited for next week when she gets to perform for real. We ordered a video of the performance but I took our video camera so I could record her and get her close up because we can't have camera's on the night of the performance. I got about 10 seconds before the tape ended. I was sooooo mad! I hope the video we ordered shows her well. I guess we will see.
MOTHER'S DAY.....I love Mother's Day! Home made gifts from my kids are so special, they always make me cry, this year was no exception. I got SPOILED! Britton made me a big card with a flower on the front and when you open it up it has a flower pot with flowers in it, when I need some help around the house I can pull out a flower and give it to Britton and he does what is on the flower, make his bed, put away toys or give me extra hugs and kisses, I use that one a lot. There are also questions on the card that he had to answer like, how tall is your Mom, he said ten feet tall....close. How much does your Mom weigh, He said 101.....what a good boy. And I wouldn't trade my Mom for....he said pizza. It was very cute. Shayna made me a very cute Key chain that says Mom, and she colored it herself. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it and every time I look at it it reminds me just how lucky I am. My Mom helped the kids make me a cute poster with a bunch of pictures of them on it with their hand and foot prints.....of course I got teary eyed. I have it hanging in my bedroom. My parents gave me Money for new clothes and bought all of my flowers for my front yard. Thank you Mom and Dad you are truly the best!! Tyler also gave me Money. I love Money.....almost as much as home made gifts.
This sticker on my shirt is from a card that Tyler and the kids gave me. My kids wanted me to wear it all day. I happily obliged.
While we were out shopping for my Mom's Mother's Day gift we stopped at the country store to look for strawberry's, when we walked in the door Shay saw this horse and had to ride it. She wanted this hat so bad and notice the boots behind her, she wanted those too. I can't imagine spending $50 on a pair of boots that she is going to outgrow in a few months, hopefully they go on sale because she wanted them so bad, it was hard to say no to something so cute! Good thing Tyler was with us, he's better at saying no.
May 17th.....Performance Day!
Name of Performance: The Toy Shops Magic Night
Costume: Bo Peep and her Lambs. Shay was a lamb
This is how they wanted their hair for the performance, well actually it was supposed to be french braided but Shay's hair won't do that so this had to do. I was surprised we got the braids that we did.
Tyler and I posing with Shay before her performance. Poor Tyler was so sick, he had an earache, sore throat and cough. Poor guy, I felt so bad for him to have to sit through 2 hours of Ballet to watch his daughter for two minutes when he wasn't feeling well. But he did it, what a trooper. Thanks Ty, some day Shayna will realize how special that is.
My Dad....He's amazing, he never missed one of my performances. I was in the Nutcracker like 10 times and he went every time. Every Ballet performance I had growing up, every dance performance I had with Jazz it up dance and every Drill Team performance in High School. He never missed!!! I'm pretty sure he won't miss anything my kids do either. Thanks for going Dad, Shayna was so excited to perform for you. Shayna's Great Grandma was there to, I'm so glad she could make it. She also was at most of my performances along with my Grandpa, some of my favorite memories are of my Grandpa giving me flowers after my performance, I got a little teary eyed taking this picture. It reminded me a lot of my Grandpa, I miss those days.
My handsome boy watching the Ballet recital. He did so good, I was amazed he sat through the whole thing and didn't complain once. What a good big brother.
The next four pictures are of Shayna after her performance holding a broken rose. We were walking out of the doors and she saw this little bench and asked me if I would take pictures of her doing some poses on it. Of course Shay, I love your poses!
After this picture she asked Britton to get out of the way. I guess she likes to be the center of attention!
This is at home with her flowers. Thanks everyone for coming. And thank you Shay for doing such a great job, you were such a big girl and so brave I am very proud of you.
About an hour after this last picture was taken she said she wasn't feeling very well. She fell asleep shortly after that and when she woke up she had a fever. And today she is throwing up. Poor girl. I'm so glad it waited until we were done with her performance.
Here's some random pictures of the kids just because I thought they were cute!
Well there are my updates, we have a lot of things coming up and I refuse to get behind, this post took way to long.
