Dinner at Shane's

Grandma Donna was in town for a couple of days so Shane decided he would like to cook dinner for everyone. We went to his house for dinner yesterday and he made (with Mom's help) Chicken enchiladas and salad and for desert we had razelberry pie. It was very good Shane. Thanks for the invite.

Between Britton, Shayna and my Dad it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a good picture!

Time Flys!

It really is amazing how fast time fly's when your having fun. I had a couple of days off of work last week and I took advantage. I kept myself so busy that I didn't even take the time to update my blog let alone look at it. My friend Kim has been in town for the summer so we got together for dinner with a few other friends (Amy, Jill and Melissa) and enjoyed spending some time together. I only get to see Kim once a year so we always have a lot to catch up on. Kim is also my hair stylist so when she moved my hair took a drastic change for the worst. I only get to love my hair once a year now. Thank you Kim for the cut and color. I LOVE it!

It's been a while since I have been able to see my kids participate in any extra curricular activities since I work full time but with some time off I was able to go to Ballet, Soccer and tumbling. I absolutely loved it and wish I could do it more. I can't believe how much more advanced Shay is getting with ballet and the skills Britton is picking up at his soccer clinic amazes me.

It's so fun to be home with the kids during the day. We get so much accomplished and we get to have fun too. We went swimming a couple of times. We haven't been for a while and the kids have really gotten behind. They are not the best swimmers so this is something that I want to try to do more often because they absolutely love it.

We have also done a lot of bike riding and roller skating, yard work and house work. Tyler and I sanded down and re-painted the trim of the exterior doors. It looks very nice. Now if I could just get my walls done. I even got domestic and made Apricot jam, Apricot fruit leather and Apricot bread.
Tyler plays soccer on Thursday nights, last Thursday Tyler had a late game so I let the kids stay up late with me. We listened and danced to music, played JR monopoly and watched fire works from our back porch. We had the perfect view, it was awesome. I loved that we didn't have to drive anywhere or deal with crowds.

We did our own fireworks in front of our house on Friday night to celebrate the 24th. It wasn't quite the display we got the night before but it was still a lot of fun.

I love being a full time Mom, I wish I could do it all the time. Although it's probably better for the kids this way. If I was with them all day everyday I don't think I would be the happy fun Mom I was this passed week.

I guess we always wish for what we don't have.....It was a good week/weekend!

I heart Utah!

Tyler had to work at the I heart Utah Festival that was going on on Saturday, so, Shane and I decided we would pack up the kids and go to the festival at Thanksgiving Point.

All of the kids enjoyed sitting in the helicopter and pretending to fly.

It was nice that even though Ty had to work we still got to spend some time with him.

Britton and Shayna wanted to play in all of the bouncie's they had there but it was so hot they didn't last long.

my favorite part of the whole festival was sitting in the shade with the kids while they ate snow cones and cotton candy watching Shane ride a bike.

He actually figured it out right away. If I would have had an extra thousand bucks in my pocket I would have got it for him. He was doing turns and started going so fast, I thought he was going to run in to all of the other parked bikes but at the last second he slammed on the brakes and came to screeching halt...black skid marks and all. It was awesome.

Saturday evening we set up our tent in the backyard to clean it out. The kids decided they wanted to sleep out there, all night, by themselves.

We read some story's to get them ready for bed, and then it was lights out. We were taking care of my parents dog while they were out of town so I put Doc out in the tent with them. I felt better having him out there with them for some reason. Big mistake, this dog's a sissy.

Someone let off a fire work and Doc went ballistic. He was scratching frantically to get out of the tent. It scared the heck out of Shayna and she was screaming, SCREAMING! for me. She was screaming so loud and so frantically that she couldn't hear me telling her we were on our way. Yes Tyler was hot on my heals. She scared the heck out of us. I unzipped the tent and Doc about knocked me over trying to get out. Shay was crying and Britton was standing there like it was no big deal. I got Shay calmed down and they wanted to stay out and give it try. I took Doc in the house with me.

Ten minutes later.....

I hear Britton calling for me "Mom, we need you". Tyler and I get back out to the tent and unzip it and Shay is standing there with her blanket and pillow saying "I'm DONE, I am SO over this, this is RIDICULOUS, I'm going inside". I asked her what was wrong and she said it was too noisy, she could hear the helicopters and the trains and all the bugs. Apparently camping in the city is not for her.

Britton agreed it was too noisy and decided he would stick with camping in the mountains.

O'well. Hopefully this will make for great memories.

Soccer and Tumbling

Britton is in a two week soccer clinic and Shayna is in a two week tumbling clinic. Shayna absolutely loves tumbling and has been asking us to put her in regular classes. I guess I'm going to have to look into that.

Shayna in her tumbling clinic.....

And here is Britton at his soccer clinic. I think he is a little bored with it. He doesn't like to practice. He just wants to play a game. O'well at least it gives him something to do.

Again, thank you Mom for getting them to their activities. I don't know what I would do without you.

Camping at Mason Draw

My Family was having a little gathering at Warner Lake for a picnic so we decided we would take the opportunity to take the kids camping.

We left Friday morning, here are the kids on the way down. They were being so good and played very well together the whole ride.

There was a semi in front of us that dropped a huge rock. It hit the road and bounced up and hit our windshield. Not the best way to start a weekend but we didn't let it ruin our fun.

Tyler is making a fist so we could compare the size. It is actually bigger then his fist.

We were not sure where we would end up because we didn't want to be surrounded by a lot of people. After searching for what seemed like forever we found a place to camp called Mason Draw. It was the best camp site I have ever been to and no one was around. We loved it, it was the perfect spot.

The kids blew bubbles while we set up camp.

Britton's favorite part of camping is having a fire. He loves to roast marshmallows and make his own hot dogs and throw on little pieces of wood to keep the fire going.

You really shouldn't ask your five year old to hold your beer for you. It just doesn't look right. She didn't think anything of it though.

We had lot's of visitors while we were there. Cute little squirrels. This guy actually wasn't that little.

Britton and Shay had a blast with the caterpillars. They were everywhere. This one they named Olive. Britton said they came up with the name because they all-love the caterpillar and all-love sounds like Olive. Pretty clever.

Some more visitors include, my Grandma Donna, my Mom and Dad and Shane. They stopped by to visit before we headed to Warner Lake for the picnic.

Britton and Shay are playing with Grandpa Doug's metal detector looking for treasures. To bad nothing worth money was found. They were entertained anyway.

Here we are at Warner Lake. Britton, Brooke, Shayna and Bruin.

Fishing with Dad. Never did catch anything.

Shortly after this we headed back to our campsite. My parents and Grandma and Shane met us back there so we could hang out and have dinner. We started dinner which was hamburgers and hot dogs and dutch oven peach cobbler. Once we got everything cooking it started raining HARD. We all took cover in the cars for about 15 minutes. When we got out of the cars our hamburgers were sitting in the skillet filled with rainwater, the dutch oven quit cooking and our sleeping bags, blankets and pillows in the tent were wet. We decided to just pack things up and go stay at Grandmas house. That proved to be a good idea. As we were driving off it started to rain again.

Even though things were not perfect we had a great time and we are very excited to go camping again!

My little golf pro

On Sunday Mom, Dad, Shane, Tyler, Britton, Shayna and I went golfing. Britton started golf lessons this week and we wanted to take him out for a little practice before he started. We had a lot of fun and Britton is actually pretty good when he connects with the ball. I didn't do to bad either. I definitely need to work on putting but all in all I'm not complaining.

My Mom and Dad bought Britton a new set of clubs and a bag. He looks so cute carrying it around.

Unfortunately for me my Mom has been the one to get Britton to his golf lessons. At the end of the week when lessons are over I will get her camera and post pictures.

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Fourth of July Hair style. Shayna wanted a star.

We went to my parents house for the most delicious Bar-B-Q. It was beautiful weather so we just played outside all day. The kids played in the water and the adults just enjoyed the relaxing time.

Here is Britton and Shay watching fireworks.

This is the firework that Britton chose to be his grand finale.

This is the firework that Shay chose to be her grand finale.

I love that my camera has a firework setting. I took so many pictures of fireworks that I forgot to take pictures of the people enjoying them.

We didn't get home from firework festivities until 11:30. Two late nights for my kids was a little more then they could handle. They slept in the next day like never before. My kids are always up by 7:30. But Sunday morning Shayna slept until 9:20 and I finally had to go wake Britton up at 10:00.

We all had a ton of fun Thanks Mom and Dad for such good food!!
