My brave little Girl!

Shayna got her ears pierced. She didn't cry at first until everyone started telling her how brave she was then she got a little teary eyed but that was all over with when she saw herself in the mirror. She was so cute as we left the store she would wave to everyone we passed and say "they think I'm a princess huh?" She loves her earrings....I'm so glad.

Happy Birthday Tyler!

As a token of our love and appreciation for you, Tyler, the kids and I decided to write down 34 reasons why we love you so much. Why 34 reasons? Because it is your 34th Birthday! Your so old....Anyway, here we go (in no particular order).


1) Because you back me in all decisions.


2) Because you know when I have had enough all I want is a bubble bath and a good book to read. You will even get my water ready for me.


3) Because you take time to rough house with the kids.


4) Because you would give me the world and all of its possessions if you could.


5) Because when either you or I get home from work you are always there to give me a hug.


6) Because you can fix or build anything.


7) Because you take the time to listen to music with Britton and teach him how to play it on the piano, guitar or drums.


8) Because you love to watch Shayna dance and sing around the house and tell her how beautiful she is.


9) Because you always call me gorgeous.


10) Because you will always dish up my ice cream.


11) Because you are patient, so very, very patient.


12) Because you put your family first.


13) Because you rent videos with me in mind.


14) Because you are an amazing soccer coach and you love to do it for Britton.


15) Because you will sit through a two hour ballet recital to watch Shayna dance on stage for two minutes.


16) Because you are the smartest person I know.


17) Because I can always trust you to be honest. Even if it hurts a little.


18) Because you help so much around the house. Your an expert at dishes.


19) Because you love and respect my whole family. Extended family included.


20) Because my whole family (extended included) loves and respects you.


21) Because you cook.


22) Because you take the time to help Britton with all of his Karate moves.


23) Because you send me text messages with heart icons.


24) Because you always tell me at the end of every phone conversation that you love me.


25) Because you are so talented in everything you do. I often look at you in awe.


26) Because you tuck your kids in bed every night with a kiss and a hug and an I love you.


27) Because you deal with all the confrontational stuff.


28) Because you love Britton and Shayna with every ounce of your being.


29) Because you always make sure I am warm and comfortable, you will get me blankets without me even asking.


30) Because you know what I want/think/feel without me saying anything.


31) Because you always put the toilet seat down and you have even trained Britton to be so respectful.


32) Because we don't feel our day is complete until you get home.


33) Because you are mine, Britton and Shayna's and we will never want or need another.

The kids and I could go on and on about how perfect we think you are but at this point we're concerned about your ego.

Kangaroo Zoo

Today the kids didn't have school and I was off work and Tyler got off early and my Mom and Brother were looking for something fun to do so we ended up at the Kangaroo Zoo (thanks Mom, sorry you didn't get to join Dad...we missed you, but someones got to work to send us on these fun outings). The kids had a blast!

Valentines Day, Kid style

First of all I need to say Happy Anniversary Ty. I love you! We decided not to do anything for our anniversary this year so we could spend it with the kids. My parents invited us to lunch and afterwards they came over to our house to exchange valentine gifts. They gave the kids some games (Jr. Monopoly, T-rex and I Spy) so we played games all day long....ALL DAY! Thank you Mom and Dad the kids love the games and we appreciate you taking us all to lunch. Cupid brought the kids book marks and candy. We decided it would be fun to have a candlelight dinner with the kids. They chose pizza for dinner (of course) and we gave them Mickey and Minnie "wine" glasses to drink out of complete with juice for Shay and milk for Britton. Nobody felt like digging through the storage room for our nice candles so we ended up using whatever candle was in the cupboard (very classy). For desert we had cheesecake then we played more games. It was a great day, I'm glad we stayed home with the kids.

Perfect Children!

I try to read to my kids every night, we very rarely miss. But a couple of nights ago I wasn't feeling well and I had a really bad sore throat. I told the kids I wouldn't be able to read to them so I told Britton to get in bed and he could read by himself. Tyler went to go get Shay to read to her but this is what he saw. Britton was reading to Shay. How cute is that....What a good big brother!

Staying Positive

It's been a while since I posted and it's because, well, nothing has been going on. Life has been continuing as it always has. This weekend was spent with Tyler's family, which was a lot of fun but in a big family there is bound to be "issues". I have decided to ignore the negitive of this weekend and stick with the positive. With that being said, I am going to brag!

We went to parent/teacher conference for Britton. Again, we were told what a good student he is and how much the teacher loves to have him in her class. Britton is on a third grade reading level and does very well with math, spelling and writing. At parent/teacher conference the parent and the teacher come up with goals that the student should work on. The goals consist of reading, counting, penmanship etc. Britton's teacher couldn't think of anything that he needed to work on so she told him to write a book. With his creativity she felt he could write and illustrate a book that they will bind and keep in the classroom for other kids to read. He is on page 18 of his book right now. He has titled it Escape of the Saber tooth. When he is done I will post pictures. I am so proud of this boy.....Can you tell?

Another positive thing I have recently learned is that Britton's elementary will be going traditional. No more year round...YEAH!! That will happen this fall.
