Summer Rec

Britton chose to play tennis this year. He is actually really good. Tyler took the kids to their summer rec activities and was shocked at how well Britton played. This was his first time ever. I guess he is a natural. I can't wait to see for myself.

Shayna was so excited to do tumbling again this year but when she got there she was so disappointed. All they were doing were somersaults and cartwheels.

She was SOOOO BORED.

The tumbling coach asked Tyler if we wanted to put her with the 11 and 12 year olds but she said Shay was still to advanced to even be with them.

So we took her out of tumbling and put her in soccer. It will be really good for her to have this kind of exposure before she starts playing for real in the fall. She is really excited about it. Tyler took her to get new soccer shoes. They are bright pink and so, so cute. I can't wait to watch her play.

Britton's rescheduled Birthday Party

Finally! It was a success. Tyler and I decorated the cake....again.

And then I decided it would be fun to make soccer ball cake pops. When I got done dipping them in chocolate I decided it wasn't worth the time to decorate each one to look like a soccer ball so this is what I ended up with. Don't you just love how I left them in the fridge for the photo.

This sign was a huge deal to Britton. After he saw that Shay got a personalized sign for her birthday he just had to have one. To bad this sign was TWENTY BUCKS more then hers. How annoying.

As the kids were arriving we gave them pizza. We bought five large pizza's and came home with five slices. Growing boys can eat A LOT!

Britton's soccer coach stayed for the party and so did his Uncle Kelley (Ty's brother). It was a good thing they did. They helped Ty entertain all of the boys.

After a vigorous game of soccer, Adults against kids, we had our cake and donuts. Britton isn't a huge fan of cake so I made him a cake out of donuts...no picture. We tried to blow out candles but we couldn't get the candles to light. It was just breezy enough to make it difficult so we sang Happy Birthday and he pretended to blow out the candles.

Then we played games. We played enough games that every boy there won a prize.

Britton and Julion showing off their prizes.

Of course we had to have a soccer ball pinata. We forgot the blind fold so we decided if we got the kids super dizzy that would work just as well.

This is Tyler showing the kids what they had to do.

The Birthday boy got to go first.

And when it broke it was total chaos!

And then it was time for presents.

Julion and Britton (Pokemon)

Britton and Prince (water gun)

Britton and Kaden (water gun)

Britton and Jake (water gun)

Britton and Dallen (water gun)
This is when Britton said "this is the gunniest party I have ever had, and I LOVE it!"

Britton and Zach. Zach is Dallen's cousin and the three of them are on the gold team together. Zach and Dallen both gave Britton the water gun.

Britton and Riley (legos)

Britton and Miles (Bakugan)

Britton and Kurtis (Rubiks Cube)

Sonny and Britton...Best cousins. (Sling shot and water balloons)

Britton and Garrett (Bakugan)

Britton and Adam (mouse trap board game)

And now you can see how little Britton really is.

We missed getting pictures with Alex and Thomas. Both had to leave before Britton was done opening his Gifts.

All the loot.

Britton wanted to play with all of his water guns when we got home. I looked out the window and saw what he was doing. I thought it was HILARIOUS! So of course I took a picture.

He had one gun loaded and another ready to go.

Re-loading

And now all the Bee's are dead.

It was a successful day.

Baby sitting Doc for Super 8

This weekend we baby sat my parents dog so that they could go to the Premier of Super 8. More on that in a minute.
Anyway-my Grandma made Doc a blanket out of some left over yarn she had. Hilda would not let Doc have it. He moped around all weekend because anytime he was laying on his blanket Hilda would walk over and stare at him until he would get up and leave. She loved that blanket so much. I guess I'm going to have to ask Grandma to make Hilda one too. Doc wouldn't stay out of Hilda's food. She would sit there and watch him eat it. I guess she figured it was a fair trade.

So, about Super 8. Have you seen this movie yet. I hear it is really good. It's intense, funny and scary all in one. I have not seen it yet but I will be taking my kids as soon as we get some free time.
We know some kids who are in this movie. They are actually relations in a round-about-way. (that's my claim to fame) My Parents went to the premier and the red carpet party for Riley Griffiths. His brother Jade is also in the movie but I think he has a little smaller part. They actually play brothers in the movie, kinda funny. Anyway Riley and Jade signed their autographs for Britton and Shayna. The kids were so excited about it and can't wait to see Riley at the condo again some day. But first we really need to see the movie.

Riley just turned fourteen and had to put thirty pounds on for his part in the movie. How crazy is that? He's lost it all now and doesn't even look like the same kid. He was on Conan last night and I was amazed at how personable he was. I was not like that at fourteen, no way would I have been able to sit up there and speak so well for myself.

Anyway, go see the movie. I can't wait!

Ballet Hair

I saw this cute hairstyle on a hair blog. (can't remember which one) All of the hair was pulled back into a pony tail but Shay's hair won't stay back if we do that so I french braided the top then pulled it into a pony.

And then we made a bow out of her hair.

I liked it with just the pony tail but for ballet it has to be off the shoulders. So I put it into a loose bun.

I think it turned out pretty cute!

Well that sucked.

We had a huge party scheduled for Britton this last Saturday. Britton invited 15 people and Tyler and I stayed up late Friday night making his cake and organizing last minute stuff.

Saturday morning around 6:30am Britton woke up puking....awesome. Tyler called all of the Parents and let them know we had to cancel and tell them we would call them back when we could reschedule.

And so next weekend we will start all over.

Hope it works out.

Shayna's end of year program

I can not even believe Shayna is done with 1st grade. She is going into second grade and she got a great teacher however there is a girl in her class that I WILL NOT let Shayna associate with anymore. This little girl has been in Shay's class since Kindergarten and I have had enough. I even wrote a letter to the Principal. I went as far as saying I would pull my Daughter from this school altogether if we don't get this resolved. Pretty drastic I know but seriously if you only knew. Anyway, back on point.
Shayna's class program was so cute! They did a little play and then sang some songs and had refreshments.

Shayna's teacher made the class yearbooks. They are so cute!

This is Mrs. Taylor. Some of the Mother's in the class got together and made her this thank you.

As much as I hate seeing my baby get older I am sure glad this year is over. Now if we can just get away from one really awful little girl we will be as good as golden.

And the soccer tryout results are in....

So this is how they break it down. Premier, gold, silver and academy. They took 13 kids for premier, 11 for gold, 12 for silver and then broke the rest of the kids up into teams for academy.

Britton made the gold team. He was hoping for premier but gold is so amazing. We are so proud of him. From what I have been told. If you are on the gold team you can work your way to premier. And on premier you can get sent to the gold team. The two teams work together and I think they even have the same coach. It's going to be interesting to see how it all works out. I just found out the results at 6:15 this morning so I don't really know anything yet. I do know two of Britton's friends (Rafael and Julion) made the premier team. We are very excited for them and we know they will be awesome.

Britton has two friends on the gold team with him. They are all such good players. I think this year is going to be so much fun to watch. A few of his friends made silver and a few have been placed on teams in academy. I'm going to miss watching them all play together. They were getting really good. They were actually undefeated this season!

I am so excited for this year. The older they get the tougher the competition and I think that makes it so much fun. I have enjoyed watching Britton play so much. We are so proud of him. He has accomplished so much with soccer. He is AMAZING!

In other soccer related news....we signed Shayna up for soccer. I'm not sure where her interest for soccer is coming from but she is so excited. I wouldn't allow her to quit ballet so she will be doing both. Which I think will be really good for her. I am so excited to see how she does. She plays a lot of soccer with Britton and now that she is registered she is even more interested in practicing. If she keeps up with the positive attitude I think she will do pretty good. She has seen some of Britton's injury's and that kind of scares her. I guess we will see how it go's. She starts in the fall.

Congratulations Britton, We are all so proud of you. You made GOLD!!! Wahoo!
