Running errands

Tyler called me this morning saying that he had a flat tire and he needed us to take the Tahoe in to get it fixed. While we were waiting the kids and I went to lunch. Then we had to go to the post office and then to get Britton's hair cut.
He has been begging me for a while now to have it cut. I wanted to grow it out so bad but he HATES it.
Here are the before shots.......

And here is the after......

Isn't he handsome!

Happy Birthday Tyler!

So this is the only picture I took on Ty's Birthday. The reason is that none of us got ready for the day. Tyler didn't want his picture taken in his PJ's, neither did I so this is what you get. Tyler doesn't get very many days off so it was nice that we could just sit around and didn't have any where to go or any errands to run.
He got spoiled. My Parents gave him money, Shane gave him a model Helicopter that he put together all by himself. Tyler already has it proudly displayed in his office. We gave him a bunch of cologne, a pocket knife, new bed sheets, gum, trail mix, highlighters and we made him his favorite dessert.
Happy Birthday Ty, we love you so much!

such a good helper!

Shayna loves to cook. She helps me out in the kitchen so much. I love having someone in the kitchen with me. It's nice to have someone to talk to and it is so much faster because she will do all the prep work.
She read a book at school that had some recipes in it. She thought this particular recipe looked really good (Olive Chicken Rollups) so she asked her teacher to print it off for her. She brought the recipe home and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to let her learn how to read a recipe and follow the directions.
This is her first time cutting up onions.

Now she understands what I mean when I tell her cutting onions makes me cry. We were both laughing pretty hard.
Cooking the chicken. She is getting really good at using the stove top.

And the best part is eating all your hard work.

Thank you for making dinner Shay. It was very good and I am so proud of you for sticking with it to the end.

So relaxing....

Yesterday was a very fun and relaxing day for me. My friend Evie and I got a pedicure and went to lunch while the kids were at school. Now I have beautiful purple sparkly toenails. Thanks Evie can't wait to do it again!

Valentines/Anniversary.

First of all I need to say Happy Anniversary Tyler. I love you tons and tons! So, I totally suck. I didn't get Ty a gift. I was worried about making the day special for the kids because Ty had to work and we were not going to have our traditional Valentines with the kids. I know poor excuse. At least I got him a card......right?? He came home that night with a gift for me. He got me new shoes and socks. Isn't he the best! I'm sorry Ty. I will make up for it on your Birthday.
So since Ty wasn't home Shayna and I made cupcakes, Britton wasn't interested.

Then Shayna and I made heart shaped pink pancakes for dinner. Again Britton didn't want to help. He is so not into being in the kitchen anymore....my boy is growing up I guess.

We didn't get to have our traditional candle light dinner with fancy wine glasses. Apparently all of that stuff is still in storage.
The kids decorated their valentine bags and boxes at school so I didn't get to see them until they got home. I made them pose with their goody's.

Happy Valentines Kido's. Love you TONS!!
Happy Anniversary Ty, sorry I'm so lame.....love you!

Shayna!

Shayna has had a couple of soccer scrimmages. They have lost both of the games they played. Her team kind of struggles but I think they will get it figured out. They definitely did better in the second game. She is only 7 playing with and against 9 year olds. I think she is doing a great job and learning a TON!

We have had a hard time finding a dance studio up to standards. I don't love the studio we signed her up for but she wanted to try hip hop and she loves it so that's good enough for me!

And this week Shayna is Student of the Week. I'm so proud of her. She filled out her poster all by herself, she did a great job.

I'm so glad the kids have adjusted so well to their new school. Good work Shay!

Another soccer tournament

On February 4th Britton had a big day. He had another soccer tournament in Phoenix. We had to get up at 5:00am in order to get there on time. Way to early if you ask me, good thing we all love soccer.

We found out that RSL was practicing at the same field the boys had their tournament. In between games we went over to watch them.

During warm ups these guys ran past us. We were so excited so we clapped for them. They thought it was pretty cool. They said hi to us and thanked us for being supportive. Ha! If they only knew.

Britton got slide tackled in the 3rd game. He came out for a little bit but went back in and he played in the fourth game.
Out of the four games Britton had a total of 6 goals. The team ended up taking 3rd place.

On the way home from the tournament Britton was eating an apple (yes he eats apples now....yeah) and lost tooth number 7. He is starting to look so old with his teeth coming in.

Remember the ankle injury I mentioned. Yeah well, it was worse then we thought. I can not believe Britton played on it. When we got home and got is soccer gear off I was shocked!

He took a couple of days off from soccer practice. He is all better now thank goodness. To be honest I'm surprised this is his first injury as much as I hate it I'm positive it's not his last.......
