Everybody in my house has been sick this last week so it has taken me forever to get this post up.
Last weekend both of the kids were in a soccer tournament so my Parents came and spent a week with us. We had a very nice time sitting out on the back porch in the sunshine while the kids were at school, and of course we had to get some shopping in. Unfortunately I didn't get anything but the kids got SPOILED!! Dad did leave me money though so I get to go shopping later....THANK YOU DAD!!
The tournament was held here in Prescott Valley. I kind of miss traveling to the tournaments but it was nice to have it local. Both of the kids did pretty good. I was a little annoyed with Shay's team but I knew that before the tournament. Her coaches couldn't wait for soccer to be over so they could get to coaching soft ball. Both of her coaches quit so there wasn't even going to be a team anymore but they asked Tyler if he would do the coaching. They changed all of the practice days and rescheduled the field days so that he could do it. Hopefully the team improves a bit. The coaches didn't even know that we were supposed to play a second game on the second day so our team was a no show. Not very impressive for the home teams that were sponsoring the tournament.
Shayna's team didn't win any of their games. They never even made a goal, but they all played hard and had fun. That's all that matters anyway. The coaches were really awesome with the girls and took them all to Dairy Queen after the last game and got them whatever treat they wanted.
Britton's team won the first two games and lost the second two games. Fortunately they won the first two game far enough that the two losses didn't put them too far behind.
They ended up taking 3rd place....not too bad!
My favorite part of the whole week......
My Mom and I decided to surprise Shayna with a pedicure.
She loved it so much that she told me we are going to be doing that twice a month and for sure after every tournament. I'm so excited that I have a pedicure buddy?
Thank you for coming Mom and Dad. It means a lot to the kids that you will come and support them.

SPRING BREAK!!
Last week was our Spring Break. Tyler was able to get three days off of work so we decided to head to Moab! The weather was nice and warm although it was VERY windy.
We wanted to hike and go for a pic nic so we went Hint' the rocks and hiked around.
portrait arch.
Tyler and my Dad have never walked across the bike bridge so we decided to do that again.
It was so windy. Shayna had to hang on for dear life!
Our nephew Coy had a baseball game so we all went to his game. They won! Here is Coy up to bat.
and here is Coy pitching.
After the game we headed over to my friends Rachel and Rory's house for dinner. We had such a fun time. They are the best host's ever and Britton and Shayna had so much fun with their kids. We actually got to spend a lot of time with friends this trip. We got to see Rachel and Rory quite a bit. The kids and I went over to their house for their boys birthday party, we had dinner with them and they came out to my Grandma's to visit. We also got to see Kip and Clint quite a bit too. Good times.
The drive from Arizona to Moab is absolutely beautiful.
Donkeys.
Mexican Hat. The reason for the towns name.
Its beautiful. But its LONG!
We even got to drive on Historic Route 66. I didn't get any pictures though because my camera was in the trunk of the car. I'm sure we will have another chance and I will get pictures then.
We had to come back home on Wednesday because Tyler had to get back to work. The kids and I still had some fun though. We went swimming and had soccer practice and they got to play with friends.
Shayna also lost a tooth. This is tooth number three for her.
She worked so hard on it. It was driving her crazy. She pulled it out all by herself and was very proud of herself. Shayna has been working very hard to earn money. She wants to buy herself an IPod touch. She left this note for the Tooth Fairy.
In case you can't read it, it says;
Dear Tooth Fairy,
I pulled my tooth out all by my self. Please give me more money. I am trying to get a Ipod Touch, my brother already has one. I would be grateful!
Love Shayna
She makes me laugh. Usually the tooth fairy gives a dollar. This time she got two dollars. She came into my room and said "Mom, the Tooth Fairy only gave me two dollars even though I left her a special note". Haha! Poor girl.
Living in Arizona is so funny sometimes. Monday morning we got some snow so they called it a snow day. Tyler's work closed down and the schools were closed. We decided to go sledding with some friends. There wasn't enough snow in town so we went up Thumb Butte Canyon and found a really fun spot to play.
Spring break was so much fun. But of course it didn't last long enough. Even though we got an extra day!

My favorite quote by.....,
BRITTON!
He actually said this to me a couple of weeks ago. I just realized I never wrote it down. I have not not been very good about writing down funny things the kids say. I need to be better about.
So Britton says to me "Mom, tomorrow at school we are playing a game and we have to use common sense. I'm so screwed !"
At least he knows he is lacking in that department.
Funny kid.

Hiking with the kids
Yesterday was such a beautiful day. After school the kids didn't want to sit in the house so we thought we would go hiking. Right behind our house is a great place to hike.

Britton brought along his book of animal tracks. We have a lot of coyote and antelope around here so its fun to identify the different tracks.
We sure have been loving the weather this winter!

Good times with great friends!
We had so much fun this weekend! We went to the Mountains with the Nunez's. The weather was AMAZING. I thought it was going to be too cold to enjoy myself but it was sunny and very warm. We built a fire and roasted hot dogs and marsh mellows and made hot chocolate. We played baseball and horseshoes, by we I mean everybody but me and Evie. Haha! We sat for hours and relaxed and visited....I LOVED IT!
About an hour after we arrived these two showed up.
They could smell the fire and their hunger brought them our way. The came with their tail between their legs and crawled over to us. They were so skinny and hungry. I almost started to cry I felt so bad for them. They are just puppies, they can't be more then six monts old. Who knows how long they had to survive on their own. It breaks my heart.
We fed them hot dogs and buns, they ate seven each and then they drank a TON of water. I can't remember why be we ended up naming them Ty and Lou after Tyler and Louis. They never left our side and became very protective of all of us. They would climb in our laps and just snuggle, they just craved the attention.
That evening we sat around the fire and told ghost stories that scared the heck out of Shayna, all the other kids just laughed and had fun with it.....not Shay, she cried. We really need to expose her to more if she is going to be part of this family. We love anything scary!
Of course none of us could leave the dogs behind so we loaded them up with us. Evie and Louis are taking care of them at their house until we can find a loving home for them. We are going to make sure that the home they go to will take both of them. They need to be together.
The next morning we got up and went shopping for the dogs. we bought them a huge bag of puppy food, some bones to chew on and some flea and tick shampoo. Then we went to the Nunez's to visit the dogs. Tyler and Louis gave them a bath and got them looking all pretty.

These are two of the most amazing dogs. I will cry when they go to their new home. If we could have dogs I would take them in a heart beat. Unfortunately we would not make a good home for them right now:(
Thank you Evie and Louis for taking these dogs (now they have 3) and giving them the love they need. And thank you for feeding us dinner, it was DELICIOUS!!

Dr. Seuss crazy hair day
Shayna's class has been doing Dr. Seuss week. They have been reading the Lorax and got to watch the movie. Today at school was Dr. Seuss crazy hair day. We decided to try to make her hair look like the tree's.
Pretty close.....right?
