Food Allergies

I took my kids to the Doctor because Shayna has been getting hives on her face. Their Doctor decided that since I have so many food allergies it would be a good idea to have both of them tested. So I took them to a pediatric allergist and all of their tests came back negative, they don't have food allergies, seasonal allergies or animal allergies. The doctor said that he doesn't think they will have the allergy gene.....they take after their Dad.....Yippee! As far as Shay's hives go she has very sensitive skin, when she goes out in the cold or if she rubs her face a lot she develops hives. Crazy I know, but my dad is the same way. So anyway I got talking to the Doctor about all of my allergies and he seems to think that I am not allergic to everything my allergist told me I am, he told me the type of testing my allergist did on me is not that accurate and if I have sensitive skin it may have caused hives rather then being an actual allergy, so after all these years and all the shots and sub lingual drops I have done over the years may not have been necessary. I am going back to the kids Doctor and he is going to do the testing on me. I guess we will see what happens.

This makes me laugh

I thought this was blog worthy! My parents put snow boots on their dog when he has to go outside. HAHA!

Winter Picnic

We thought it would be fun to take the kids out to see the wild horses and have a picnic. Here is a picture of Shay looking for the horses. Notice she is holding the binoculars the wrong way, we couldn't convince her to turn them around.

We couldn't find any horses so we decided to eat.

Sorry Dad, no beer at this picnic!

Britton has become so difficult to take pictures of. I had to sneak this picture, I couldn't get any of him at the picnic table. He runs as soon as I pull the camera out.

Britton decided to throw a snow ball at his poor unsuspecting sister. He got her right in the back of the head...and so........

A snow ball fight began. I didn't get many pictures, I was to busy dodging snowballs.

This is the end of our day. We are packed up and ready to leave. Britton agreed to have his picture taken if he could stand on top of the table with Papa. We had a fun time but I cant wait for the snow to melt.

Mission Accomplished: We finally saw the wild horses on our way home but they were too far away to get a picture of. O'well, it was still a great day.

What's been going on?

I can't believe I got so behind on blogging, now I have to catch up so here is what's been going on. Last week Britton was VIP for his Kindergarten class. We had to make a poster and tell all of the class about Britton.

Then Tyler and I had to tell the class how special Britton is and why he is such an important part of our family. Then everybody in class had to give Britton a compliment and then he had to say Thank you, it was so cute, most of the compliments were "Britton I like how you play at recess with me" and "Britton I like how you count the Dalmatians". When that was done Britton told his whole class he was going to ride in a helicopter for my Birthday. When they found out it was my birthday they all sang happy birthday to me, it was the cutest thing ever. Anyway the Helicopter ride didn't work out (long story) we hope to do it in a couple of weeks. So instead of riding in a helicopter we took the kids to Hollywood Connection for my birthday. Here are some pictures of the big day.

Shayna's favorite ride because it is a horse

Britton and Shane's favorite ride was the bumper cars

Tyler with the kids in the balloon

Well even though we didn't get to ride in a helicopter we got to see one. There was a hockey game going on at the E-Center (right across the street from where my birthday party was being held) and life flight and the fire station were there promoting something or other so we took the kids over to see it.

It was freezing so we didn't stay long. And of course Tyler got chummy with the flight crew. He is not afraid to talk to anyone, he does a good job getting his name out there. So anyway there you have it, that's what we have been doing the last week or so.

Fun, Cold, Snowy Days

On Sunday we got a lot of snow and the kids were aching to go play in it so we got them bundled up and they headed outside to shovel the driveway with Tyler.

All bundled up ready for the COLD!

Tyler couldn't stand to be outside with the kids and not get in some play time. So he helped them build a snow fort. What a fun Dad! I stayed inside where it was warm and took pictures through the window. My excuse to not go out was the house needed to be cleaned. Yes I would rather clean then go out in the cold snow.

Beginning stages of snow fort

A little bit bigger

And a little bigger

and done!

They stayed outside for over two hours, I couldn't believe it. I didn't get much cleaning done while they were outside. I was too busy getting them drinks and taking them potty and changing gloves to dryer ones and taking pictures. Since this last picture was taken they have done some more work to their fort. I will have to add another picture later.

Happy New Year!

Celebrating the new year has become one of my least favorite things to do. I won't drink when my kids are at home and I think it is completely ridiculous to make myself stay awake just to say Happy New Year. If we had a babysitter then I might feel differently, anyhow, I wanted to make it fun for the kids but I put absolutely no thought into it. So at 8:30 Tyler and I decided to get out the pots and wooden spoons and let the kids count down from ten and then bang on their pots and scream "Happy New Year". After about one minute of doing this Britton looked at me and said "now what", My reply "now we go to bed" needless to say they thought this was the dumbest celebration ever. O'well, maybe next year will be better. (Notice Shayna insisted on wearing her Princess outfit for the occasion) When the kids were asleep Tyler and I watched a scary movie and then went to bed about 11:00, at midnight we were woken up to fireworks, ANNOYING! Tyler said "Happy New Year" and then rolled over and went back to sleep. HAHA what a great night!

Driving around on new years day! It was great weather so we took down the Christmas lights while the kids played.
