This is the last day of Kindergarten for Britton. I can't believe he is already headed for first grade. Here is a picture of him on the last day of school.
They had a Graduation Program and it was so cute. The whole class had their own speaking parts. They had to stand up and say what they learned throughout the year. Britton said he learned how to do his best work. It was so cute. They sang songs and said poems and then we watched a video of everything they have done the past year.
This is kindergarten graduation. This is Britton's friend Hayden.
and this is Mrs. Wells, Brittons Teacher, Shay had to be in the picture to!
This is his Graduation hat.
Here he is receiving his award.

Cute quotes and some story's.....
When Britton was younger he had some really cute words he would use for certain things. Shayna learned those words from him and continues to use them, she has also added her own words to her vocabulary. Lately I have noticed a lot of Shayna's mispronunciations and decided to blog about them.
Britton first started calling granola bars "gorilla bars" Shayna of course learned that from him. I just recently corrected them and told them it was pronounced gra-no-la. Now they ask for "granilla bars".
Britton used to always say "kweep" instead of keep. Now Shayna say's "kweep" all the time and Britton is constantly saying "no Shay, it's KEEP!" Direct quote from Shayna...."I kweep trying and kweep trying and I just can't say keep right." Notice she said keep the right way at the end.
Another one of Britton's famous words when he was younger was "popelsuck" Any guesses what that word was??????
Now for the words Shayna has come up with on her own. She calls Lagoon "magoons". She wants to go to "magoons" so bad and is so excited to go this year.
We go to Hollywood Connection a lot to let the kids ride the ride and play in the arcade. Shayna calls it "Hollywood Collection".
For Shayna a "Ebow" is an elbow and "extercising" is excerising.
Shay loves to sing and dance. Right now she loves Tori Amos and the song Crucify. The lyrics go "nothing I do is good enough for you, I crucify myself" Shayna sings it like "nothing I do is good enough for you, I'm crusin by myself" I laugh every time she sings it, it's so cute!
I can't believe how opposite my kids are. Shayna is Sassy and feisty and would never back down from confrontation. Britton is sweet, sensitive and lovable and cares almost to much for other peoples feelings. The last couple of days I have had some conversations with the kids, these two stories will show you just how opposite they are.
Shayna......I got upset with Shay the other day over something I can't even remember, I told her if she didn't knock off the attitude she was going to have to go to time out and I would take a toy away from her and she would have to work hard at earning it back. She just looked at me, put her left hand on her hip, put her right hand in the "come here" position and with all the attitude she could muster said "bring it". Can you imagine, she actually said "bring it". Where does she get these things. I actually started to laugh, that's probably why she's not afraid to give me attitude but I couldn't help it. I actually LOVE her personality. As hard as her feisty attitude can be at times I still think she is so cute.
Britton.....We were watching TV and a commercial came on about missing children. Shayna, Tyler and I were all talking not realizing what was on TV and how in tuned Britton had become to it. When the commercial was over Britton asked me if he was missing would I try looking for him. I said "Duh, Britton of course I would look for you" not realizing how deep this question really was for him. When I saw the expression on his face I knew this conversation needed a little more then my flippant remark. He then asked me how long I would look for him, I said I would look until I found him, he then said what if you never found me. I had to explain to him how we would look for him until the day we died, and I would do anything it took to get him back. It made me wonder if some kids that get kidnapped think their parents aren't looking for them. I'm glad we had this conversation because I want my kids to know that we would never give up hope. I don't want them to think they should just give up if, God forbid, something ever was to happen.
When Britton wanted a "popelsuck" he was really asking for a popcycle.....Cute Huh!

Award Ceremony
Today was Britton's award ceremony for karate, he was so excited. He was the first one to get his award for the evening. The pictures turned out dark and horrible, it's a good thing we recorded it as well. Any way here he is receiving his yellow belt.

If you had perfect attendance you also received a medal. (I have no idea why the next few pictures are sideways. I can not figure out how to rotate them, it's very annoying)

After they received their awards they had to bow to all of the parents. Britton is on the left.

When all of the awards were given they had a regular class for yellow belt. They got to spar for a while. They were partnered up with someone and started sparring freestyle. The rules were you couldn't go for the face or below the belt but you could kick their legs, if you hurt someone you had to do 30 push ups and if you made someone bleed you had to do 50 push ups.....nobody had to do push ups. Britton was teamed up with this boy (Britton is the shorter one).

After a couple of minutes the teacher stopped them and put this boy with someone else and teamed Britton up with the Assistant Teacher. I'm not sure why she made the change but I like to think it's because Britton was to tough.

Dermatologist Appointment for Shay
So I took Shay to the Dermatologist today because she has had a weird skin rash on both of her arms and a lot of cracking and bleeding on her ear. Turns out she has Hay Fever and it's causing this weirdness with her skin. Anyway she has to have a steroid cream 4 times a day for four weeks on top of the steroid cream we have to put Eucerin cream on her. When the four weeks is up if she isn't still having problems we have to learn to maintain her skin condition. Which means we have to figure out how often she will need the medication and she will most likely need it the rest of her life. YIPPEE!! Thanks Dad, I blame you.
These pictures are at the Doctor's office while waiting for him to come in. Shay did one of her famous poses and asked me to take a picture of her. I pretended to take a picture of her and that did not please her. She wanted a REAL picture. So here she is, looking as beautiful as always.

Happy Fathers Day
Fathers Day was kind of crazy this year. Both of the kids have been sick so we had to do our crafts last minute. Tyler got hand prints of the kids and my Dad got homemade picture frames. (picture frames will be filled with pictures at a later date....sorry Dad, time slipped away) These are pictures of the kids finishing their projects on Fathers Day.

And the finished product....

Happy Fathers Day Tyler. Thank you for being such an amazing Daddy! The kids look up to you in so many ways. Thank you for the constant I love you's and the I'm so proud of you's. Thank you for taking the time to play with the kids and teach them things. Thank you for every thing. We LOVE you!!!

Cute story
Tyler had to take a load of junk to the dump yesterday and Britton went with him. On their way home they were listening to the radio and a song came on. I don't know the name of the singer but if your an American Idol fan you might recognize the song. She's the girl that Simon Cowell claims to have found and the lyrics go something like I keep bleeding, I keep keep bleeding in love. Any way when Britton heard the song he looked at Tyler and with the most serious look on his face said "why doesn't she just get a band aid". It made Tyler laugh pretty hard and he had to call me right away. Since I use this blog as my journal I am going to try to write things down that the kids say. They are always making me laugh but I can never remember what they said so this post is the first of many......just bare with me.

Britton's Big Day!
Britton had quite the busy day yesterday. First of all he had to go in for Kindergarten testing, which isn't a big deal but he was nervous about it. He asked me what would happen if he answered something wrong. I told him it wasn't a big deal if he didn't know the answer to something and we had a discussion about how its ok to make mistakes as long as you try your best. After about a ten minute discussion he said to me with tears in his eyes "oh I didn't know, I thought I was supposed to be perfect". It nearly broke my heart, but he did it and of course he did very well on everything, his teacher asked him reading and math questions and a bunch of other stuff and his teacher is very impressed with how smart he is. He is not going to have any problems with first grade. When he was all done and we were walking to the car he said "so when do I have to take my test" I told him he was all done, that he just took his test with his teacher. His eyes lit up as he said "Are you sure? That's it? I'm done? That was sooooo easy". What a relief, now just one more test to go........
Britton had is first Karate test today. He is testing to go from white belt to yellow belt. He did a good job, I was impressed with his ability, he has come a long way since his first class. He passed!! They have an award ceremony next week, were he will get his yellow belt and a trophy and some kind of an award for having perfect attendance. We were not allowed to take pictures during the testing so I recorded it, but I will post pictures of the ceremony next week.
Britton, you couldn't have made us more proud. Good job Bud! We love you!!!
