San Francisco....What a party!

What a crazy, fun, exhausting, quick trip this turned out to be. When ever I go to San Fran I never think the trip lasted long enough. I LOVE San Fran and this trip proved no different, although the entertainment was different then I usually attend. I enjoyed myself and I was so happy I was there. Uncle Roger got married. This wasn't a traditional marriage.....yep, you guessed it, it was THAT kind a marriage and it was FUN!

Before we went on this long trip we told Shayna that since we had to drive so far she could get a new car seat if she worked hard for it. By working for it I mean no tantrums and being nice. This proved difficult for her but she earned it. Here she is showing off her new seat.

We split driving time up in two days, this is the first hotel we stayed at in Fernley Nevada, just outside of Reno. It was nice at this hotel, not to busy, we were the only ones using the pool. I loved that!

The second time we stayed at this hotel it was on the way home. In the middle of the night some guys started fighting and woke my kids up. I was pretty ticked, my kids have never heard so much colorful language. Oh well, what can ya do.

This is the hotel we stayed at in San Francisco. Shayna loved the chairs and had to get her pictures on them.

Then the party began. Friday night we went to Rogers house to visit with him before we headed over to the Wedding dinner for close friends and family. These pictures are in Rogers back yard.

This is the restaurant, it's a french restaurant with very yummy food. I was so scared to try some things but I actually really liked what I ordered. AMAZING!! The 3rd picture of Shay is after she tried something she didn't like.

I cannot get Britton to give me a decent smile. You will notice as you look through the pictures his nice faces are few and far between. Tyler actually looked at the camera for me. Although not amused. I think he felt guilty for deleting my pictures a few weeks ago.

Saturday morning we got up and went to the beach at Half Moon Bay. Another place I love. We decided not to put on our swim suits because it was a little chilly. I really regret not putting them on. About a half hour after we got there the sun came up and got warm. It was so beautiful and we got DRENCHED. Especially Britton, he got taken out by a wave. I wish I had a picture of it but I was too busy rescuing him. Good thing we had dry Swim suits to ride back to the hotel in.

Saturday night was the wedding. Continue reading this post at your own risk.....the entertainment got a little wild.

I have never had so much fun at a wedding. I truly hope I get invited to more gay weddings. The people are so nice, the entertainment is well, entertaining. The food is unbelievable, first we got a fancy salad, then salmon and asparagus, then fillet minion with potatoes and then everyone got their own individual cakes and the party goes on and on and on. By the time we left my kids were exhausted. They actually fell asleep for some of it and we finally left at 11:30.....We were the first to leave.

Welcoming and toasting the guests
At the end of welcoming and toasting the guests Roger said "we feel like royalty, that's the reason for these outfits". I think it fit them well. They live like royalty, I should have taken some pointers.

The following pictures are mostly of my kids. They are during dinner and entertainment. They did their vows at the end of the evening. Once again Shay loved posing for the camera, I can't tell you how many people came up to me asking if it would be ok to take pictures of my kids. They were the hit of the party that's for sure. I loved all of the compliments I got on them. I have the best kids in the world.

The Entertainment......

Wig Change

Wardrobe change (can you see her, not really, she's dancing with Roger. click to enlarge)

Shayna asked me if it was a boy or a girl. Britton was oblivious to it. He just assumed it was a girl and didn't think any more of it. When I told Shay it was a girl she said "well its a good thing she has pretty dresses" she makes me laugh. She is way more observent then I give her credit her.

There was actually a lot more entertainment. I didnt get pictures. I guess it just wasnt exciting enough. There was singers and violinists and piano players and a saxaphonist. All were very good.

The Vow's

First my cousin Dusty got up and read a poem with Roger and Ron, they each had their own speaking parts. When the poem was done Dusty said "on behalf of the entire family Ron, we accept you". After that Ron's uncle got up(no picture) and gave a little speach and at the end of it said "on behalf of our whole family, Roger, we accept you. There were lots of cheers after this. It was very nice.
Roger and Ron's friend Billy got up and read a poem and gave a little speach. Billy does hair for Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched) and other actresses equally as cool. Billy did my hair about 6 years ago and yes, I felt like a movie star for the day. Just that day though, I could never accomplish the look on my own.

The officials vows. When he said by the power invested in me I now pronounce this marriage legal in the State of California, Roger and Ron started cheering. It was so funny, no hugs and kisses, just jumping up and down cheering. It was great!

Sunday Brunch
An after the wedding brunch was given for close friends and family. This brunch was at Billy's house.

Fisherman's Warf
Sunday after after brunch we went to fisherman's warf. There is always lots of fun to be had at the warf. Mary-go-rounds, sea lions, painted silver men, bums with signs that say "I need a whore" very, very classy.

Ghirardelli Square
I spent way to much money on chocolate. I always do, this is the best chocolate EVER.

Uncle Rogers House
Sunday after the Warf we went back to Roger and Ron's house. Roger cooked us dinner. It was delicious....like always.

Rogers favorite holiday is Halloween. While we were there he got out some of his decorations for the kids to play with. I wish I got a picture of Harold the skeleton they keep in their closet. HA! It's true they really keep Harold there, year round.

Circus Circus, Reno, Nv.
On our way home on Monday we stopped at Circus Circus in Reno to let the kids have some fun. We came home with way to many stuffed animals.

We definatley had a good time. Thank you so much Roger and Ron for letting us be a part of your special day(s). I love you both!
