Some much needed time off

I took a couple of days off for a little mini vacation we were supposed to take. It didn't end up happening but I took the days off any way. And I ENJOYED it!
Friday was filled with normal Friday errand running. But I found out that we were doing our Father's day dinner on Saturday so I needed to pick up some items for my Dad's gift. Tyler took Britton to his friends Birthday party and Shayna and I ran to Michaels craft store. That's where Shayna and I had a front row seat to a show we were not expecting.
We heard screeching tires and then the loudest scream you have ever heard. A toddler had run out of the store doors and into the parking lot where a truck happened to be driving by. Luckily he stopped in time and his passenger yelled something out her window to the Mom. This is when the show began.
What ever the passenger yelled was the wrong thing to say to this particular Mother. She told the passenger if she wanted to say something to her she should get out of the truck and say it to her face. Lot's of swearing was involved. And pretty soon the Mom was charging full speed at the truck. The passenger hurried and rolled up her window and locked the door. The Mom was trying with all her might to get in the door. She started banging on the window as hard as she could. I'm really surprised it didn't break. When she couldn't get to the passenger she walked back into the store. Then the driver got out and ran to the door and stood in the doorway yelling at her. He said if you go after my wife or hit my truck again I will knock you out. She ran right back to him and bumped chests with him. She kept saying do it, do it. The whole thing was quite comical. I really can't believe people act like that. Where do they get the guts? If that would have happened to me I would have grabbed my kid and went home. The Mom went back in the store and finished her shopping...C.R.A.Z.Y.
Shayna asked me why they kept saying funky. Ha ha. I'm so glad she heard it that way.

Saturday Britton and Shay had a Birthday party to go to in Ogden for their cousin Sonny. They went swimming at the outdoor rec center they have there. We had to leave early because Britton had a soccer scrimmage in Murray that we had to get to. It was the first time his new team played together.

They did a great job. I think this is going to be a really strong team. I can't wait until their actual games start. The scrimmage lasted for two hours. By the time they were done playing Britton was exhausted but we headed over to my parents house for Father's day dinner. Happy Father's day Ty and Dad. Your two of the BEST Dad's in the WHOLE world.

Sunday for the actual Father's Day event my Dad took us all to see Super 8. It scared Shayna and she sat with her eyes covered for most of it but what she did see she really liked. Britton thought it was a cool movie and the rest of us REALLY liked. I think it makes it so much more fun when your watching someone you know.

I mentioned before that we pulled Shay out of tumbling and put her in soccer. She is loving it. I'm so glad we did it. Since I had Monday off of work I was able to watch the kids at soccer and tennis. I am so impressed with these two. And I think Shay is so dang cute in her soccer clothes.

When that was over we went home and packed a picnic and drove up the mountain to watch the helicopter work on the pipeline. It was so neat to see. I was actually surprised at how close they let us get.

When the picnic was over the kids wanted to go home to play with friends. Tyler mowed the lawn so I had no choice but to clean the house.

I also took Tuesday off of work. It's a good thing to because we ended up being very busy. We had to get Shay to and from Ballet, then we went to wallmart for some needed items. My Mom was with us so afterwards we decided to go back to her house for some lunch. After we finished lunch I had to take Britton to his Dr. Appointment. We scheduled this appointment for a physical. Just because he is so active we wanted to make sure he was as healthy as could be. We were also very concerned about Britton's eating habits and wanted to talk to the Dr. about that. We have been struggling with Britton's eating since day 1. We have a lot of adjustments we have to make. Like MAKING him eat fruits and veggies...wish us luck. And adding more fats to his diet. We have to go back to whole milk and we are to give him an instant breakfast twice a day with his meals. In six months the Dr wants to see a two inch height gain. I really hope it works, I just want him to be healthy. Right now Britton weighs 49 pounds and is 49 inches tall. He's a perfect square! We also have to have a bone scan. Just to make sure nothing was compromised during the 9 years of his eating issues. We have both promised to work harder to deal with his eating issues. It's going to be hard but I know we can do it. We should have the results back from the scan sometime next week.

After the Doctor appointment Britton had a soccer practice so we headed over there for an hour and a half then he had a soccer party to go to. The soccer party was for his old team. Their coach had a prize for them and wanted to let them get together for one last time. They will never all play as a team together again....how sad.

The whole gang...minus Kaden

And now it's back to work....YUCK!
