San Francisco....What a party!

What a crazy, fun, exhausting, quick trip this turned out to be. When ever I go to San Fran I never think the trip lasted long enough. I LOVE San Fran and this trip proved no different, although the entertainment was different then I usually attend. I enjoyed myself and I was so happy I was there. Uncle Roger got married. This wasn't a traditional marriage.....yep, you guessed it, it was THAT kind a marriage and it was FUN!

Before we went on this long trip we told Shayna that since we had to drive so far she could get a new car seat if she worked hard for it. By working for it I mean no tantrums and being nice. This proved difficult for her but she earned it. Here she is showing off her new seat.

We split driving time up in two days, this is the first hotel we stayed at in Fernley Nevada, just outside of Reno. It was nice at this hotel, not to busy, we were the only ones using the pool. I loved that!

The second time we stayed at this hotel it was on the way home. In the middle of the night some guys started fighting and woke my kids up. I was pretty ticked, my kids have never heard so much colorful language. Oh well, what can ya do.

This is the hotel we stayed at in San Francisco. Shayna loved the chairs and had to get her pictures on them.

Then the party began. Friday night we went to Rogers house to visit with him before we headed over to the Wedding dinner for close friends and family. These pictures are in Rogers back yard.

This is the restaurant, it's a french restaurant with very yummy food. I was so scared to try some things but I actually really liked what I ordered. AMAZING!! The 3rd picture of Shay is after she tried something she didn't like.

I cannot get Britton to give me a decent smile. You will notice as you look through the pictures his nice faces are few and far between. Tyler actually looked at the camera for me. Although not amused. I think he felt guilty for deleting my pictures a few weeks ago.

Saturday morning we got up and went to the beach at Half Moon Bay. Another place I love. We decided not to put on our swim suits because it was a little chilly. I really regret not putting them on. About a half hour after we got there the sun came up and got warm. It was so beautiful and we got DRENCHED. Especially Britton, he got taken out by a wave. I wish I had a picture of it but I was too busy rescuing him. Good thing we had dry Swim suits to ride back to the hotel in.

Saturday night was the wedding. Continue reading this post at your own risk.....the entertainment got a little wild.

I have never had so much fun at a wedding. I truly hope I get invited to more gay weddings. The people are so nice, the entertainment is well, entertaining. The food is unbelievable, first we got a fancy salad, then salmon and asparagus, then fillet minion with potatoes and then everyone got their own individual cakes and the party goes on and on and on. By the time we left my kids were exhausted. They actually fell asleep for some of it and we finally left at 11:30.....We were the first to leave.

Welcoming and toasting the guests
At the end of welcoming and toasting the guests Roger said "we feel like royalty, that's the reason for these outfits". I think it fit them well. They live like royalty, I should have taken some pointers.

The following pictures are mostly of my kids. They are during dinner and entertainment. They did their vows at the end of the evening. Once again Shay loved posing for the camera, I can't tell you how many people came up to me asking if it would be ok to take pictures of my kids. They were the hit of the party that's for sure. I loved all of the compliments I got on them. I have the best kids in the world.

The Entertainment......

Wig Change

Wardrobe change (can you see her, not really, she's dancing with Roger. click to enlarge)

Shayna asked me if it was a boy or a girl. Britton was oblivious to it. He just assumed it was a girl and didn't think any more of it. When I told Shay it was a girl she said "well its a good thing she has pretty dresses" she makes me laugh. She is way more observent then I give her credit her.

There was actually a lot more entertainment. I didnt get pictures. I guess it just wasnt exciting enough. There was singers and violinists and piano players and a saxaphonist. All were very good.

The Vow's

First my cousin Dusty got up and read a poem with Roger and Ron, they each had their own speaking parts. When the poem was done Dusty said "on behalf of the entire family Ron, we accept you". After that Ron's uncle got up(no picture) and gave a little speach and at the end of it said "on behalf of our whole family, Roger, we accept you. There were lots of cheers after this. It was very nice.
Roger and Ron's friend Billy got up and read a poem and gave a little speach. Billy does hair for Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched) and other actresses equally as cool. Billy did my hair about 6 years ago and yes, I felt like a movie star for the day. Just that day though, I could never accomplish the look on my own.

The officials vows. When he said by the power invested in me I now pronounce this marriage legal in the State of California, Roger and Ron started cheering. It was so funny, no hugs and kisses, just jumping up and down cheering. It was great!

Sunday Brunch
An after the wedding brunch was given for close friends and family. This brunch was at Billy's house.

Fisherman's Warf
Sunday after after brunch we went to fisherman's warf. There is always lots of fun to be had at the warf. Mary-go-rounds, sea lions, painted silver men, bums with signs that say "I need a whore" very, very classy.

Ghirardelli Square
I spent way to much money on chocolate. I always do, this is the best chocolate EVER.

Uncle Rogers House
Sunday after the Warf we went back to Roger and Ron's house. Roger cooked us dinner. It was delicious....like always.

Rogers favorite holiday is Halloween. While we were there he got out some of his decorations for the kids to play with. I wish I got a picture of Harold the skeleton they keep in their closet. HA! It's true they really keep Harold there, year round.

Circus Circus, Reno, Nv.
On our way home on Monday we stopped at Circus Circus in Reno to let the kids have some fun. We came home with way to many stuffed animals.

We definatley had a good time. Thank you so much Roger and Ron for letting us be a part of your special day(s). I love you both!

Soccer

I am so ANNOYED!! Last year I was the coach of Britton's soccer team while Tyler was in Scottsdale. When Tyler got back from Scottsdale he was the Coach for the second season. This year we decided we didn't want to coach so we could just enjoy watching Britton.

We went from Coaches to no body's.

We have been waiting for soccer season to start and we never heard anything. So after calling the Rush soccer office and playing phone tag for days we finally found out that they didn't have our registration so they didn't put Britton on a team. They sure had our money though, can you believe they had our money but they lost our paper work so they didn't put him on a team. After getting everything straightened out he was finally put on the "White Thunder" team. He has a couple of friends on the team so it worked out well, but he has missed two games. But at this point that doesn't matter, I'm just glad he is playing because he loves it.

Deep Fried Foods

We went to my Parents house for dinner yesterday. My Dad was using his Fry Daddy to make some chicken wings. I have a Fry Daddy that I got about 5 years ago. Up until yesterday it was still in the box. We decided to make doughnuts so I ran home to get my Fry Daddy.

and the finished product.

ok, so they are not beautiful but we will get better.

I was having so much fun using my Fry Daddy. We decided to have Fry's with dinner so I made some.

Delicious!

Results

Shayna's results on her neck x-ray came back normal. YEAH!! We talked to the Dr. about what we should do next and we decided we will keep an eye on her and log everything that happens. We have to write down when it happens, what she was doing when it happened and how bad it hurt (did she cry or did she just say ouch). We have to do this for two weeks then call him back and depending on how he feels about it we may have to see a specialist. She hasn't had many "episodes" of neck popping since the Dr. appointment so hopefully that's a sign of good things to come.

First Day of School, Primary Childrens and Karate, OH MY!

Today was the first day of Shayna's second year of preschool. She was so excited to go and never acted worried at all until we got there and got out of the car. She immediately started crying. It was awful. Her teacher was so good with her. She took Shay to get a drink of water and I left. It was so hard to leave her when she was still crying. Her teacher said a girl in class asked her a question and that distracted her enough to stop crying and she did great the rest of the day. I always cried the first day of school. I guess my kids are going to be just like me. YEAH!!

Shayna also had a Dr. Appt. today. She has been having problems with her neck for about 6 months. It pops and causes and enormous amount of pain when it does. So we had it checked. While we were waiting for her appointment we took the kids to the park to play.

Britton wanted to ride his bike around the track. He's getting so good, he even starts and stops all by himself.

Tyler followed the kids around the track on Britton's scooter.

My Mom picked my Brother up from work and came to the park to watch the kids play for a bit. Here is Shayna showing Shane how to ride her scooter.

This picture. Oh, this picture. I'm not sure how to feel about it......

Our conversation went like this....
Britton: Hey Mom, Come here
Me: What's up Bud
Britton: Somebody wrote something in here
Me: Oh yah, what does it say
Britton: I had sex right here and I came everywhere
Me: Silent
Britton: Mom what's sex
Me: They meant six, they just spelled it wrong
Britton: Huh, that doesn't make sense
Me: Well that's what happens when your stupid, you spell wrong and you don't make sense. That's why it's so important to go to college.
Britton: Yah, I'm gonna go to college for sure.

I don't think that I like that he can read.

We went to Shayna's Dr. appt. He sent us to Primary Children's hospital to get some x-ray's done on her neck. If the report comes back inconclusive we have to see a Specialist. We are just waiting to get the results. I should have them back in a day or two.

We had to rush back home after the X-ray to have dinner and get Britton to his award ceremony. He passed his Karate test. He is now a yellow belt 2nd degree. He is doing so good with karate and loves it. I'm very proud of him.

Labor Day Weekend

We went to my parents condo for Labor Day Weekend. We thought it was going to be a nice relaxing weekend. I was afraid it was even going to be kind of boring. Boy was I wrong. My Dad had all kinds of work planned for us, and by us I mean Tyler. Ok, so my weekend was nice and relaxing and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Dad and Tyler and everyone else that owns a condo had to do all the work.

If you know Tyler at all you know he avoids pictures like the plague. I was lucky to get this one. I called him in a voice that sounded like I REALLY needed him. He looked and I snapped. This picture makes me laugh. We didn't go to the condo prepared with work clothes. My Dad was prepared however and handed Tyler an old pair of overalls and my Mom's Jacket.

Britton was even hard at work. I just took pictures......someone had too.

Here's Mom, she worked hard to.

Shay just wanted to pose for pictures so I obliged.

Here's another great picture of Ty. I'm actually still really mad at him. He got a hold of my camera and deleted the best picture I have ever gotten of him. He was actually smiling at the camera. It was seriously a good picture, I'm never going to get over it. He was in the process of deleting this picture but I caught him in time. They just got through working so he was enjoying a beverage. My cousin Chance showed up so Tyler put his hat on.

Cold beverage, Chances hat and Dad's overalls = Classic picture

Scott and Toni showed up with their horses which of course made Shayna's day.

Toni took the kids and I on a 2 1/2 hour Horse ride. Britton rode behind Toni, Shayna got the Shetland and you can see my horses ears at the bottom of the picture. I love horses ears, aren't they so cute.

When we returned from our ride Shay got to groom her horse. Poor little horse was sweating so bad under her saddle.

This next picture was the highlight of my trip. I can't tell you the last time either of my kids have fallen asleep in my arms. My kids are not nappers, never have been so this was very relaxing. This was after our long horse ride. I can't even begin to tell you how sore I was after that. My whole body ached. I couldn't sit for two days. I'm definitely a city girl.
