Unbelievable! My baby isn't a baby anymore. Time goes by way to fast. I was feeling a little sad that she has grown up so fast. I think that's why I took WAY too many pictures. I didn't post them all because that would take too long.
Shayna wanted a Unicorn party this year. It was all kind of last minute so I couldn't find anything Unicorn. Thank goodness the Easter Bunny brought Shay a Unicorn figurine. We used that as a place marker for the Birthday girl to sit at the table. I had to get creative and anyone who knows me knows how scary that can be. I made a horse cake that I found on family fun and used a spiral sucker as the horn. Usually I have help from Tyler since he is the artistic one but this year he had to work so I was on my own when it came to decorating the cake. I decided not to post a close up picture of the cake....it just wasn't that great. Shayna and her friends loved it though and that made me feel better.
Shayna also wanted a Unicorn Pinata. Did you know that nobody in this State carries Unicorn pinatas. Yes I could have ordered one online, but again....last minute. I found a horse pinata and again stuck a spiral sucker (the spiral suckers were a scavenger hunt of its own) in the head for the Unicorn horn.
I felt terrible about the lack of friends that showed up to the party. It was spring break weekend and everyone was out of town. My fault...I should have known. We won't make that mistake next year. The two girls that did show up had a lot of fun and everyone got extra prizes and TONS of candy from the pinata.
Shayna helped me decorate for the party. She had all kinds of ideas to make it look magical.
Yep, the decorations look great.....she thinks so anyway!
The first thing we did when the girls arrived was play pin the tail on the donkey. I wanted pin the horn on the Unicorn but.....ya know, whatever.
Shayna got the closest so she won a magical unicorn horn (a spiral sucker)
Then we opened presents.
Shay got some really neat things. Out of all of the pictures I took you would think I would have pictures of everything. I don't so I will list it here. Just so she can read about it in the future.
Glitter Girls Hair and makeup kit, Home made telescope with crayons to decorate and a BFF sign all from Ashlyn (the other blond), Poly pockets from Leah (the dark haired girl), cup cake maker refills, water shoes, swimsuit and swimsuit cover, lots of gum and a moxy girl doll head that she can do hair and makeup on all from Grandma and Grandpa Turner and Uncle Shane. Roller skates from Tyler and I, A porcelain tea set (very, very cute) from Grandma and Grandpa Carver, 3D bubble blowing kit (when you wear the 3D glasses you can see hearts on the bubbles...very cool) princess wand and princess crown from Aunt Mary and Family.
Thank you to everyone. She definitely got spoiled!
Then of course it was cake and ice cream time. You can laugh at the cake if you would like, it certainly makes me giggle.......at least I tried.
For the grand finale we did the pinata. I converted it to a pull string pinata so there would be no bats and total destruction involved. It turned out great. A very girly thing to do. Of course this was the only time Britton would come up stairs. He waited until the candy dropped then rushed in for some.
The girls were each given a party bag. The bags included a slinky, hairbrush and makeup kit, a mini Unicorn horn (small spiral sucker) and the candy they got from the Pinata. The party really did turn out well considering. Shay had fun and that's my biggest concern.
When all was said and done Shay wanted to do my makeup with her new makeup kit......how could I resist?
Shayna, this is a very special day for your Dad and I too, it means we have you! Thank you for being such a wonderful Daughter. We love you VERY much! Happy Birthday beautiful girl!!

Hollywood Connection Fans free night
My kids absolutely love Hollywood Connection. The first 1000 people to become a fan of Hollywood connection on facebook got to go for free on Thursday April 8th. Tyler had to work so my Mom and I took the kids and Shane. We were so worried that it was going to be crowded and annoying. It wasn't, that was the least crowded it has ever been. I guess most of the people were out of town for spring break. Yeah for us. It was a lot of fun, and totally FREE!

Would you like me to tell you a "polum"?
Britton has been writing poems lately. He has a really cute one about a flea that he flicked to the sea and it ended up in another country. I will have to have Britton tell it to me again so I can get the whole thing written down.
Shayna asked me if I would like to hear her "polum". I told her of course I would love to hear your POEM. She said it's called a "polum" Mom and it goes like this......
Then she started to sing,
Don't ever laugh when a hearse goes by
for you could be the next to die
they wrap you in a bloody sheet
and send you down about 6 feet deep
the worms crawl in the worms crawl out
while they play peanuckle on your snout
This is a song I learned from my Dad many, many, many, many years ago. We like to sing it during Halloween.
She is always making us laugh. What a fun little girl I have!

HaPpY EaStEr!!
Saturday night we had my Parents and Shane come over for dinner and to dye Easter Eggs. We did four dozen eggs and that wasn't enough. Everyone wanted to do more. Next year I am going to have to plan ahead and make sure we have TONS of eggs. After all, this isn't just for the little kids.
Just a little explanation....When we are at home Shayna is never in normal clothes. She always wants to wear her princess dresses. When she wakes up in the mornings she changes out of her jammies and into her princess dress before she leaves her room. This dress that she is wearing is her favorite, I think it is so funny that she wears it all the time. The crotch hangs down to her knees but the skirt covers it so she doesn't care. It is the last dress that I ever wore dancing on stage.....that was a little over eight years ago. I haven't danced since I got pregnant with Britton, I was just to sick and I swore I would get back into when I had him, when that time came I couldn't stand to be away from him in the evenings so I never went back. Then along came Shay and time has just slipped away. I miss dancing, hopefully I will go back to it someday.......anywho, back to the point.
Dyeing Easter eggs.
I had to add this close up of Britton, He is about to lose his front tooth. It is going to come out any minute now.
Dad and Ty showing off their fancy artwork, I think they were actually flipping me off!
Dad's pink egg is so pretty.....it's so him.
The finished product
Easter morning. I couldn't believe that the kids got up so early. They came running into our room to tell us the Easter Bunny came. We told the kids to wait for us and we would be right out. By the time we got out there (no more then 3 minutes later) they had already been through their baskets and read the notes that Mr. Cottontail left them.
As soon as they read the notes they were in search of the eggs. Mr. Cottontail hid 34 eggs for each of them. He didn't do a very good job hiding them though. As it turns out they were hidden way to easy. I bet next year will be a different story!
Some of the eggs even had money in them.....How lucky are they?
Britton couldn't wait to get to his lego starwars set. It's all he could talk about.
The finished product.
My parents came over for Easter dinner and brought the kids some Easter baskets. They were a big hit! As you could see the kids didn't want to get out of their jammies, it had been a long weekend and they just wanted to relax. I don't blame them.
After my parents left we had our family movie night. We didn't have time at all this weekend and the kids always look forward to it so we had to make time Easter night. Britton wanted to watch Starwars and Shayna didn't so Tyler and Britton watched Starwars and Shayna and I watched Monster house. It's a kid friendly scary movie. It was so much fun to watch it with Shay, She loves scary movies just like I do.
