There really isn't anything to report. I just have a lot of nervous energy and posting on the blog gives me something else to do while I'm sitting here. We just had the nurse come in to check his temp. It has gone down slightly. We moved his position in bed and he looks much more comfortable. His blood sugar was checked and it's at a normal level too. I probably won't update until morning as nothing is changing. Good nite.

Fever
Right now Dad has a fever. We are just working on getting that lowered. He is still sleeping. Mom and I are just visiting. Hopefully she can get some rest tonight. She needs it.

Just arrived
I just got to the hospital. Dad looks pretty good. He is trying to talk but can't at all. That is very frustrating for him. He shakes his head for yes and no questions. He just told the nurse that he doesn't have any pain or nausea. The nurse just touched both sides of his face and he could feel it but he couldn't feel it on his right arm. Mom and I are going to sleep at the hospital tonight so we can be with him. I know I didn't update much. But that's all we know. I will keep posting.

I will do my best
As you may or may not know my Dad had a stroke this morning. I am sitting here at the airport now waiting for my flight back to Utah. I am going to do my best to update the blog as much as possible to help keep friends and family in the know. When the stroke happened this morning he was unable to move his right side at all. About an hour ago he was able to move his right arm and leg and when asked he was able to follow a finger with his eyes. These are all very positive things!! He is still unable to speak and they have put in a feeding tube. Unfortunately this is all I know and won't know much more until I can see him for myself. Updates will be more often once I'm in Utah. Thanks for your prayers.

Happy 8th Birthday Shayna!!
I can't believe my baby turned 8. Where does the time go? She had a very busy day on her Birthday. She had to go to school then she had dance class then she had soccer practice. Soccer got canceled because of rain. It really worked out in our favor though because she just wanted to get to her presents.
This is the very sad looking cake in the shape of nail polish that I made for her. If you can't tell what it is don't worry, your not the only one. Shayna liked it though and that is all that matters!
Here she is after her dance class opening presents!
Enjoying the message from her new foot spa.
While she was at school I decorated the house so she would have something fun to come home to.
Later that night after dinner and a shower we ate the cake.
And painted fingernails. I love how they turned out!
Britton lost his 8th tooth on Shayna's 8th Birthday. They both thought that was pretty cool.
And we even upgraded the bird cage. Even I felt bad for the little cage we had them in. They love all the space they have now. Yay for being able to spread your wings.
Saturday we took Shayna to Peter Piper Pizza for her Birthday Party.
Even though some of her friends couldn't make it, it turned out to be a great day! She had so much fun.

Happy Easter!!
We had a really fun Easter under the circumstances!! I will explain the circumstances a little later in the post......
This is the first year we didn't have my Brother and Parents decorate eggs with us. It was just the four of us this year....three of us really. Tyler watched T.V. We still had fun though. The kids each dyed a dozen eggs and it didn't take very long with no one else to use the colors and to visit.
Saturday the boys went golfing so Shay and I did our hair all pretty and went out to Dairy Queen!
After that we went to the grocery store and bought a cheese cake to take to our friends house. They invited us over for dinner and we took the dessert. We also went to Walmart to get her glasses fixed. We had a lot of fun. I enjoy spending time with her one on one. We need to do it more often.
Easter morning the kids woke up at 6:45 am. Waaaay to early for me but they were so excited we had to drag ourselves out of bed.
Later that day we met a bunch of our friends at the park for a Bar-b-q and a Egg hunt.
So here is the circumstances I mentioned earlier. We got to the park before anybody else did so that we could set up and make sure that we got a table. Britton told me and Tyler that nobody in his class believed in the Easter Bunny. Shayna heard him and said she didn't know if she believed or not. I kept trying to ignore them and change the subject but they kept asking. They even went as far as saying please don't lie to us, just tell us the truth, we trust you guys. UGH!! Talk about HARD!! I didn't want them to not believe already. I wasn't ready for that. So....we told them the truth, it was hard and they were a little sad. Britton said "well what about Santa then". I told him today we were just talking about the Easter Bunny. I don't know why it is so hard for me to let them grow up....I want them to believe forever.
And since it was so hard for us to tell the truth and they were feeling a little sad Tyler and I decided we needed to make this an extra special Easter for them. They have been wanting these little darlings for a while now. I have said no a thousand times but today they got me.
And yes....I am very afraid of them......
Their names are Tayo and Hedwig.

A visit from the Parents
Everybody in my house has been sick this last week so it has taken me forever to get this post up.
Last weekend both of the kids were in a soccer tournament so my Parents came and spent a week with us. We had a very nice time sitting out on the back porch in the sunshine while the kids were at school, and of course we had to get some shopping in. Unfortunately I didn't get anything but the kids got SPOILED!! Dad did leave me money though so I get to go shopping later....THANK YOU DAD!!
The tournament was held here in Prescott Valley. I kind of miss traveling to the tournaments but it was nice to have it local. Both of the kids did pretty good. I was a little annoyed with Shay's team but I knew that before the tournament. Her coaches couldn't wait for soccer to be over so they could get to coaching soft ball. Both of her coaches quit so there wasn't even going to be a team anymore but they asked Tyler if he would do the coaching. They changed all of the practice days and rescheduled the field days so that he could do it. Hopefully the team improves a bit. The coaches didn't even know that we were supposed to play a second game on the second day so our team was a no show. Not very impressive for the home teams that were sponsoring the tournament.
Shayna's team didn't win any of their games. They never even made a goal, but they all played hard and had fun. That's all that matters anyway. The coaches were really awesome with the girls and took them all to Dairy Queen after the last game and got them whatever treat they wanted.
Britton's team won the first two games and lost the second two games. Fortunately they won the first two game far enough that the two losses didn't put them too far behind.
They ended up taking 3rd place....not too bad!
My favorite part of the whole week......
My Mom and I decided to surprise Shayna with a pedicure.
She loved it so much that she told me we are going to be doing that twice a month and for sure after every tournament. I'm so excited that I have a pedicure buddy?
Thank you for coming Mom and Dad. It means a lot to the kids that you will come and support them.
