This, That and the other

We have had so many things going on. We have kept ourselves very busy, so busy in fact, that I haven't taken much time to get my blogging done. So here I am trying to catch up on a long post with lots of pictures.
My kids had fall recess last week so My parents took the kids and me to see Kennecott.

Britton has been begging me to take him ever since he learned you could see it from space.

Britton and Shayna's favorite part was watching these big trucks loading and dumping.

They watched them through their binoculars for hours. OK, maybe not hours but it kind of felt like it.

This is the size of the tires that are on the trucks. They cost $25,000 each and there are six on each truck. CRAZY!

After a while we went into the museum and looked around and watched a 15 minute video. The kids were so captivated by the movie and learned so much from it. They were telling me things that I was clueless about. I wonder if I forgot to listen.
Here they are looking through microscopes at all the rocks and gems and whatnot.

We were there for three hours and we still had a hard time getting the kids to leave. Britton has been begging to go back every since. I told him to ask Grandpa!
My favorite part of the whole trip was this little bar called the Ore house. How funny is that! There is a little sign that says "Utah's best little Ore house". The kids couldn't figure out why I would make my Dad pull over so I could get a picture of it.

The next day we had a Soccer tournament for Britton that his Uncle Jonny put together. It was in Ogden and consisted of four games. Out of those four games Britton got a total of six goals. The people messed up on our registration and didn't have us down so they had to work us in. The boys, who were all 8 year olds had to play against 10 year old girls because of this mistake. We ended up taking last place but that's ok because all of the boys had so much fun.

while we were there we got to watch our Nephew Jamon play for a bit too.

It was a perfect soccer day. Thank you Mom and Dad for bringing all of the food, snacks and drinks. We appreciate every thing you do for us.

The next morning we took the kids to Gardner Village for all of the Halloween festivities. I decided we will not be going back. Not during Halloween anyway. We didn't have that much fun. It was overly crowded and I think the activities from the two day's prior made us a little to tired for this adventure. You can see Kennecott from Gardner Village and the whole time we were there Britton kept asking us to take him to Kennecott. He did NOT want to be at Gardner Village.
One of the activities we did while we were there was we went on a scavenger hunt for certain witches. You had to fill out a form with about a million different witches to find and then take it to a bakery for a 25 cent cookie. I would have happily have spent the 90 cents for the cookie to not have to push our way through hoards of people to find the witches.

We bought tickets to ride to the witches house. I found it very annoying that we had to pay 20 bucks for all of us to ride to the witches house when we parked our car right next to it. There were so many people there that we had to park clear out in the boonies and it just so happened to be by the witches house.
Anyway, here are pictures from that.

My Mom tried to get a picture of all of us riding on the truck to the witches house but only ended up getting herself in the picture. Pretty funny. Good work Mom!

We took the kids to the candy store (which took about 30 minutes because it was so crowded) just to keep them happy while we finished the scavenger hunt.

We finally finished the dang scavenger hunt and as we were walking back to the car the kids decided it would be fun to spend some more money and fish for a prize.

Britton won the same thing we had just bought him and they wouldn't let him trade. O'well. I think he was still happy.

Shayna won some gummy somethings.

We were only there for about an hour and a half but it seemed like a lifetime. Maybe we will try again at Christmas. HaHa!

That night my Mom invited the kids over for a sleep over. They made cookies and ate chocolate shakes and made forts to sleep in and watched movies. I think they are some pretty spoiled kids.

Since the kids were away Tyler and I took advantage and went out to dinner and a movie. Dinner wasn't the best, we went to Joes crab shack and for someone who HATES seafood that's not the best place to go. Tyler's lucky he has such a nice wife and allows him to have a choice every once in a while. The movie we went to was Case 39. It was way better then I expected it to be.

Other then all the above mentioned we have been staying busy with normal life obligations. Oh, and soccer. Britton just had his last outdoor game yesterday and starts on an indoor team on October 30th. So we get a two week break. WAHOO!!
