Happy Birthday Tyler!!

Well, we started off our long weekend with a Bang! Tyler took Friday off of work. He didn't get Monday off, so he arranged his schedule so that we could spend Friday together while the kids were at school. But, Shayna got the stomach flu. She started with it Thursday night. So we kept her home on Friday and the three of hung out all day. Fortunately it didn't last long and she was feeling much, much better by Friday afternoon.

Saturday, Tyler's Birthday, Shayna woke up early so that she could make him a sign.

She did it all by herself! She is so thoughtful. She wanted to do something special for her Dad. I don't think it gets any better then that. What a fun thing to wake up to. After he opened gifts we got ready for the day and headed out to breakfast. After that we had two soccer games to go to. Britton is on two different teams. That's why he has so many games. We lost a game and won a game. My parents and Shane came over to our house for a Birthday dinner. We had chili and corn bread. That night we put a movie in for the kids and the adults went down stairs to watch a scary movie. We saw paranormal activity 2. It was really dumb and not scary. Sorry Mom and Dad. And then we let the kids "camp out" in the living room.

Sunday morning we woke up to a blizzard but Tyler and I had plans and I really didn't want the weather to stop us. We dropped the kids off at Grandma and Grandpa's (thank you Mom and Dad) and Tyler and I headed to La Caille for Sunday brunch. Thank you to my c0-worker for an awesome gift certificate. It took us forever to get there because of the weather but it was worth it. It was a three course meal and I couldn't eat everything so I brought home a lot of left overs. I told Britton he could eat the bacon and when he pulled it out of the fridge it dumped all over the floor. I was so upset. My $20 french toast was scooped up and thrown in the garbage....so sad! Britton felt awful, poor kid. After that we decided to play Uno. We played a lot of Uno this weekend. And by a lot I mean A LOT! I am so impressed with Shayna. She caught onto the game so fast and she even counts her own cards. I think it will be great for her math. Sunday night we also had Family Movie Night! We watched Karate Kid and ate tapioca and whatever other treats the kids could get their hands on.

Monday I had off of work and the kids didn't have school but Tyler had to work. I let the kids just play and do whatever while I cleaned and did laundry. The kids had swimming lessons, my Grandma came into town so she got to go with us and see how well the kids are doing. Tyler was even able to get off of work early enough to join us. Then we headed over to my parents house for dinner and some more Uno. The kids just love that game!

It was another very busy yet fun weekend. It's already looking like next weekend will be just as busy. I love it!
