While the kids were still out of school and my Parents were still in town we just played and played. We went to our Community Rec center and played tennis and we have been swimming there a TON. We have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. So far the pool has not been busy at all. 95% of the time we are the only ones there. It's like having our very own indoor pool, so cool!
We have been checking out all of the local lakes. They are all within a 20 minute drive. And they are all so pretty. My favorite lake is Lynx Lake. It is so beautiful. We spent a couple of hours walking around and skipping rocks. I can't wait to go play there all summer long.
I have an Aunt that lives in Sun City which is only about an hour and a half away from us. Since none of us have ever been there we decided to make a day of it and go visit her. First of all we had to stop at the outlets in Anthem.
The only thing we bought was a BUNCH of clothes for the kids. What's up with that? I'm definitely going back for myself.
The next stop was Aunt Diane's house....
She has a beautiful yard that we loved so much. They let us pick all the oranges and limes we wanted. We wanted A LOT!!
After hanging out at the house for a while Chuck and Diane wanted to show us their club house. The kids hopped into the golf cart with Chuck and we all met up at the golf course.
The kids couldn't believe it when they saw the grass. It was REAL grass. They played and rolled around on it for quite some time. I'm sure everyone thought we were crazy but we have really missed grass. Everything around here, even the soccer fields are turf.
On our way home from Aunt Diane's house we promised the kids we would do a picnic. We stopped and got some food and went to a park across the street from the outlets in Anthem. It is the most amazing park. I wish we lived closer to it. I think we would go there everyday!
And then it was time for my parents to leave. We were all sad and a few tears were shed but we knew they wouldn't stay away for too long.
During our break we also went hiking with our good friends the Nunez's. This is a beautiful hike and the weather was amazing!!
We really enjoyed our Christmas break! It was really hard to send the kids back to school when the weather was so nice. I thought I was going to miss the snow at Christmas time, but I DID NOT!! I love the weather here.
If anybody wants to come visit us, please do! We have lot's of fun!!
